Dayum! The freeptards are a pessimistic bunch.
"Bush should never have given in to Kennedy on the Education bill. Bush should view the Liberals as they truly are -- a greater threat to the survival of this nation than the terrorists. At least the terrorists are honest in saying they hate the USA. Public education is the singular, root reason why our great Republic is likely to be ultimately doomed from within. I wish I could feel optimistic. If anyone would have said on 9-12-01 that the election would be this close, and Bush so demonized, they would have been called crazy and pessimistic. But the reality is that those of us who cherish Liberty are in a shrinking minority. I don't see how it can be turned around. It will take a something truly revolutionary in thought or innovative information distribution (beyond the fantastic Free Republic.) A new way must be developed to reach the uninformed masses. Liberals are truly evil and will destroy this country if they are not fully defeated."

1. I wish I could ask him what the hell he means.
There are so many things in that paragraph that need to be clarified, I wouldn't know where to begin. How about this: How exactly is public education leading to this "doom"? What is the nature of this "doom"? Who is doomed, and how?
Too many unanswerable questions.

Is it the creeping doom from Innsmouth? Is it the inevitable approach of Nemesis? Is it the horrible revenge of the killer bees? What is it, man?

the nature of the "doom" is that the children in public schools are vulnerable to exposure to the evil horrors of the satanic Harry Potter, multiculturalism and Heather has 2 mommies.

Definitely worse than terrorism. :eyes:

3. I'll never understand the logic behind statements like this one:
"Public education is the singular, root reason why our great Republic is likely to be ultimately doomed from within."

So ... it's a bad thing to guarantee an education for every American?

Let's do the math, shall we?
No education = No way to earn a living = Higher crimes rates
Oh that's a great way to secure our future! :eyes:

Public education means the junior freepers would have to mix with LIBERALS. And maybe be taught by teachers who got their information from THE LIBERAL MEDIA, like CNN or CBS.

An honest assessment of freepers--and most conservatives--is, by itself, completely damning. They are bigoted, dangerous fascists. They are also proud of it, and it is only self-preservation that stops them from freestyling on their hate at any available moment. Every once in a while, though, their true colors show through, like when one of them states that he wants to "supress the Detriot vote" when a reporter is present.

15. I've been noticing it more and mroe too
In fact, Boortz said the same thing on his show...

"BOORTZ: Frankly I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out who is a greater threat to this country and I -- I don't -- I don't ask this question or make this statement for the purpose of saying something outlandish that you will repeat at lunch or dinner today. It's not why I'm doing this. But there's two different groups of people out there that present a threat to this country. Well there's many different groups. But I'm just singling out two different groups of people right now that present a threat to this country, and frankly I just cannot tell you which one presents the greater threat. One group of people: Osama bin Laden and his Islamic terrorists. The Islamic jihadists. The other group of people: those of you who would vote for John Kerry. And both groups present a threat to our safety and a threat to our future. A threat to our freedoms and a threat to our economic liberty.

And again I'm not saying this for effect. I mean this. I can not make up my mind which group is most dangerous. I can't. Because those of you, out there, who would vote for John Kerry for president of the United States, I have -- I deeply, deeply, feel that you present a danger to this country. To our freedoms. To our very safety. And to our future. Just as the Islamic terrorists do. And I hope you know what in the hell you're doing, but frankly I doubt it very, very seriously."

38. Their thinking has a major flaw, however.
Back before the New Deal, the poor were in a virtual information blackout. Hell, they barely had propaganda. If our beloved United States were to suddenly convert to, say, Brazil (the nation, not the movie), we would at least be able to understand that this wretched state was the fault of the elite. Then there would be a messy civil war, all hell would break loose, and this place would revert to a post-apocalyptic land of neo-Visigoths.

9. How can anyone "cherish liberty" AND support Bush?
The Bush administration seems to have a absolute disdain for democracy. From the Florida election shenanigans, to the suggestion that the Turkish military should stage a coup because the Turkish government was doing what their population wanted, and not what the Bush administration wanted... jeez... praising Aznar for going AGAINST the will of 90% of his population in supporting the Iraq invasion... the PATRIOT Act... the list goes on for miles.

If you "cherish liberty", you are against Bush.

What's with these people? The very people taking away their liberty, destroying the free press, and wiping out the middle class are their own
party members, yet they want to blame Democrats.

My own sister told me yesterday that all the problems we have are because of Democrats. These people listen to Limbaugh, watch Fox News, and then start acting like what's his name's wife on F451. They're totally brainwashed. Kill the Democrats, watch Fox, burn the fucking books.........

it justifies everything about thier worldview. Everyone is perpetually trying to take away thier way of life. They cannott pause from thier battle for a moment to think. Thus why they argue that we cannot pause from our battle with terrorism to think. To think is to be weak, to be weak is the worst thing anyone could do.

The republicans spin things for this point of view and have attained people who are loyal to the death to them in exchange.

Thank you, but "aw shucks" also. Republicans are the true party of the underdog. And if there's a group of underdogs in America, it's the Mexican immigrants, God bless them. They come or came here to avoid extreme poverty and for the sake of their families left down there; either party would be lucky to have them, once they can vote. In my experience, they're church-going, miss their families in Mexico, expect nothing from government, and are worthy Republicans. Arriba, Arriba, Andale Mexico y America juntos.
