I Just Gave Bush a "0" out of "0-100". Was I Too Harsh? |
|
Someone doing a survey for BP oil just called. Let's just say the oil companies didn't come out too favorable. Then they asked how I'd rate Kerry out of "0-100". I gave him a "90". I gave Bush a "0" because I think he is the worst President EVER. Should I have cut him a break and at least given him a "1" or a "2"? Does this man have ANY redeeming qualities? Has hatred blinded me?

They should provide a negative scale for that rare president of bush*'s caliber who actually does more harm than good.

5. No, you did the right thing |

since the poll question didn't offer negative numbers. I would have told them if the Chimp is in for another four years, we are likely to have a nuclear war, and though the fundies might enjoy it, a glowing planet can't be good for the oil business.

It is pretty fair given the nature of the survey. :hi:

The survey is flawed because it didn't contain didgets below zero.

A zero shows obvious partisan bias. Plus they tend to dismiss answers on the extreme edges of the curve.

I'd ask - can I give a negative number? Then we would laugh.

I bet they use the difference between the Bush rating and the Kerry rating to say "he/she's a writeoff. They're too liberal."
They are, after all, an oil company, asking you what you thought of oil companies.

And here I was feeling guilty about giving such a dismal score. Now I feel guilty about not going low enough! I agree they'll probably dump my survey. I really ripped the oil companies.
They would ask a question that would go something like, 'BP oil is one of the world's leaders in solar cell manufacturing and in pursuing diverse, alternate energy sources, and are also looking into drilling cleanly in Sibera and other countries in order to decrease America's dependance on ME oil. How does that make you feel towards this company?' I said, 'Unfavorable', just because we all know they are still going to use oil drilling as their number one source of energy production. Nice how they throw in all that nice, green stuff, huh?

That implies he is neutral. "-100" would be about right.

Bush cannot be evaluated on his performance as president. He is not, nor ever will be the elected president of the United States.
