1. A short summary...
would be appreciated by those of us who don't have access to cable TV, are at work, or for a million other reasons can't jump up and run to watch on TV. Posts like this are pretty meaningless without some context. I always feel duped when I click on a thread such as this one and get NO additional info. :-(

2. sorry--
I'm working & can only half watch it. It is basically a mini-biography from her childhood in Africa to college in Switzerland to her life the states. Again, sorry I can't be thorough right now, it was basically a heads up to those who have CNN :hi:

4. Thanks. I just turned it on. Now it is over. Do you think RW is pissy
because the Heinz fortune (made by repugs) is being used for socially beneficial programs?
They had a repug talking about the fact that her foundation gave money to ENVIRONMENTAL CAUSES (the horror, the horror) AND SHE WOULD BE IN A POSITION TO INFLUENCE POLICY IN THAT AREA!

7. She also was active protesting against apartheid in Johannesburg
where she went to the University.

Her father was a doctor in Mozambique and he went to local tribes once a week, treating sick people. She always went with him and said that one of the sick babies died in her arms.

A lot of new stuff I didn't know. I really like her.

10. *retching* How about the ENTIRE * CABINET full of ex-ceos
and board members who now influence policy...in the favor of their old employers?!

I swear, the hypocrisy of the GOPers really gets my goat.

11. Of course they're pissy...
but then again, they would throw stones even if MOTHER Teresa was involved with Dems...

Bottom line, I think Teresa is a self-assured cosmopolitan woman. She's not a local-yokel. She is the antithesis of Pickles Bush.

Her worldly upbringing sits in direct contrast to the repub's beloved concepts of imperialism & isolationism. She is no "Stepford Wife," and the right wing knows it. So they will spit venom at her relentlessly.

Compound the above with the fact that the substantial portion of her fortune is essentially repub money. They must absolutely despise her.

I like her a lot. She has a distinct charisma that radiates independent thought.

Anyway, they'll replay the report later today. Maybe I'll have time to see the whole thing this time...

6. I hadn't heard that she slammed Santorum (sp?) before
he ran for Sen. Heinz's Senate seat as being the antithesis of her husband. Good to know.

What was it they said she called him? The RW Forest Gump or something to that effect.

13. I saw it last night and it's wonderful!!

I can't wait for her to be the 1st lady.

She is so honest and speaks her own mind.

What a treasure and what a change from Pickles.
