Victor Ashe Confirmed As Ambassador To Poland
posted June 23, 2004
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) today made the following statement congratulating former Knoxville Mayor Victor Ashe on his confirmation as the U.S. ambassador to Poland:
“As a Tennessean, I’m proud of today’s confirmation of Victor Ashe as the next U.S. ambassador to Poland. He has been a leading public servant in East Tennessee for decades.
"I’m confident that he’ll meet this new challenge in Eastern Europe with the same commitment he put forth during his 16 years as the mayor of Knoxville. I wish Victor and his family the best of luck.”

one of his first goals as Ambassador is to maintain Poland's support of the coalition forces currently in Iraq. Poland has more than 2,000 troops stationed there.
Ashe also plans to work on economic partnerships between Poland and the U.S. (The Polish people must be encouraged that their military involvement in Iraq is our number #1 priority for them)

http://www.wbir.com/News/news.asp?ID=18960last link goes on to say his wife doesn't know any Polish, but the author conveniently doesn't get Victor on the record if he is fluent.
I'm also not saying he is *'s buddy in "that" sense, but they were frat buddy's in college. This is the person who's been discussed in many threads. A simple websearch should reveal lots of gossip between the two.
