After all is said, realizing what America has become is just plain sad. Glaringly transparent corruption, greed, bigotry, and violence have won over all large hearted ideals. For that, they used the power of the media that they either own outright by FCC decree,or, with others, have found that journalism is another word for a high cost prostitute, to issue forth a constantly streaming message that is pure deceit.
The byproduct of a nations people, programmed to be dissatisfied with what they cannot afford, are carnivorous in their desires to create a false image of wealth and happiness. This national pathology in turn, pressures the giant to bring home the goodies without the conscience of the disastrous worldwide effects. The heartlessness of Industry is the necessary evil child that almost everyone has adopted.
This American training system includes examples of characters, or bad actors, to choose from. Who should I emulate in order to get what I want? The concept that is not in question is the desire itself. Desire is the fuel that turns the crankshaft of this vehicle without brakes. The poor dream of riches, and the rich dream of ever more wealth. This has achieved the desired outcome of all speeding toward the same unknown point as this narcissism has no destination.
So it's sad. The American unit, the American, has become a wanton berserker hungry for status based on purchase power alone. The base of Man's potentials being glorified and in turn drowning out all other higher principal. Is Man really the being that god built heaven for?

of Gordon Gecko.
It started in the Reagan era, when welfare mothers were evil, and greed was good. Will America re-aquire its essential humanity?
I think that before that happens, America will split in two.

The country's tumor should have been excised 30 years ago, but no one would perform the surgery.
Time for the patient to take matters into his own hands.

Unfortunately, I sorry to say I think you're right. If you get a chance, go see the movie "The Corporation." It won't make you feel better, but it will give you even more perspective.

7. And so we've pretty much decided to emigrate |

Sadly, I fear that the US is no longer the best place to live, as it's been since 1932 or so. Very sad. With our wealth of natural resources, this should've lasted at least another 100 years or so, but the right wing has ruined it over the last 10 years.
