How did Mike Tyson Do It?
I was reading an article on Mike Tyson last night, on his comeback and how he burned through $400 Million Dollars. Sure, he spent a lot. Sure, he got ripped off by some people. I concede all of that.

But $400 Million Dollars??!!!

Sweet Bleedin' Jeebus on a Garage Creeper, I am so poor, $400 would be a fortune to me. $4000 would work miracles in my life.

Somehow, as much as I want to feel some empathy for him, I cannot find it in me.

1. Hmmm...
Did you ever see the movie "Brewster's Millions?"
If not, rent it.

2. $4k right now would be like winning the lottery
I'd be out of credit card debt and would have some money left over to play with!

6. That is beyond mere foolishness.
That breaks new ground in dark and eldritch things.

The phrase "living large" fails miserably in this context.

4. You think it would be plenty...
of money to buy ferret food with, wouldn't ya? When I was living in Vegas, he let his ferrets starve to death--or near to death. Bastard!

13. What?????
That's terrible! We're poor as dirt, but the ferrets eat before we do.

17. It's true...
They found some starving and already dead ferrets caged in Tyson's back yard. Of course it wasn't his fault the help didn't feed them, even though they should be following his instructions.

8. Probably...
but we are still talking a lot of take-home pay.

Don King, on the other hand, may well be a living testimonial to the phrase "tar and feathers".

9. that's a lotta pricey hookers!
I guess ....

It beats me how anybody with half a brain wouldn't buy some solid non-liquid assets with that kind of money.

Like real estate. ??

Lost most of that, too. It's just a remarkable story and not in a good way.

Anyone noticed food prices have gone WAY up lately? Things like meat and cheese?

Oh, but Greenspan says there's no inflation. YEAH RIGHT

12. I am more shocked that he had that much money to begin with.
Was it all based on winnings from boxing, endorsement contracts, or did he do a lot of investing? Or maybe all three?

19. Who cares?
Rapist, ear-biter, former mugger, punk, thug, and REPUBLICAN. Yes, Tyson is a Repuke, go figure. I am a former amateur boxer, and most boxers are the kindest, sweetest, gentlest men you could ever meet. People like Tyson give them a bad name. The sooner he is out of boxing, the better.
