When do I make a donation to the Kerry campaign?
Could someone explain to me the best time is to donate money to the campaign, and why? Is it better to donate before he accepts the nomination, or after? Is there some other group I should also donate to who can use my advertising dollars effectively, or should I just give all of it to the campaign directly?

The intricacies of campaign finance rules and federal matching funds is just something I've never followed. And also, I've never been in a financial position to really donate (though I gave to Gore) and I want to make sure Kerry gets the best impact from my money.

Thanks!

1. You can't donate to Kerry after the convention
but I've never found out what happens to money unspent by the end of the convention.

5. Yes.
Which is why I don't think that Kerry should accept federal campaign funds.

7. That seems unbelievably unfair. Why don't we have a rule
that says they both have to stop raising money at the same time?

3. donate now! or before he accepts the nomination!
The money that's left over will go to the DNC-and then will be spent to support Kerry & other candidates (I believe)-
You can give to the DNC after the nomination & other groups like Move-On PAC etc.

8. Forget it. You should see the site they had at the Washington Post.
I did not save the URL but it had the BushCo network with donors and influences...it is a poisonous spider web like you would not believe. We need everybody's money and that might not be enough.
