ha, this is the kind of person we're up against |
|
I saw a disturbing post earlier about how AOL was putting the bullshit Ron Fornier on their welcome screen and decided to look at some message boards there ... check this freak out:
George W.Bush is a man of GOD,He reads his bible plus prays to him everyday.Thats why he is a good and intelligent President who deeply cares for this country of ours, without his leadership those awful terrorists would have taken over. And i to hope that hes Re-Elected in November so he continue on his path to make America better.
that would be ladymac1957@aol.com if you want to drop her a line about how smart she is

2. i wouldn't laugh. that's the scariest thought of all |
|
the people we are up against include *many* that are just like that one. and they're completely immune to being convinced they, or the republican party, are wrong about *anything.*

I was thinking about this while I was at a bookstore earlier today (buying Moore's "Dude, Where's My Country?" ... not because I figured there would be much there I didn't already know, but I just felt like throwing a little business his way and it would be a fun read) and while I was checking out there were a couple people next to me and I don't know what they were talking about, but she must have mentioned a book and this older man said "Is it one of those Bush-bashing things? I'm not buying it." ... I have no idea what she was talking about (I don't think they saw what I was buying, I think it was a completely separate conversation), but I realized that's how so much of the Bush base is ... it doesn't matter if it's fact -- if it reflects poorly on Bush, it's "bashing the president" ... I'm sure when Clinton was president he didn't have a problem hearing people bash him on a daily basis, but Bush is above public reproach because he's a "God-fearing Christian" and a "war president" (oh wait, now he's the "peace president" ... I can't keep up ... I wish he'd stop flip-flopping)

I keep hearing and seeing this.
The utter stupidity of such a statement is mind-numbing.
"Taken over", like the USSR took over Hungary, Czechoslovakia, etc. after WWII? Or like Japan took over Thailand and Vietnam?
Has any one of these asshats ever sketched a series of steps by which a country of 290 million people and the most powerful military the world has ever seen would be 'taken over' by a terrorist movement?
I've got neighbors who are convinced that if Al Gore had been elected president, we'd have 'surrendered', and all our women would be wearing burkas and it would be illegal to be a Christian now.

aww, it's so cute when people like you who have never been out of their trailer try to chime in on world politics ... if it weren't for people like you, Bush and his buddies at Halliburton and the Carlyle Group and in various large oil companies wouldn't be able to buy Hummers and vacation homes all over the country because of no-bid contracts in all the countries Bush so gleefully invades, despite any evidence at all that they could ever cause us any harm in our own land ... of course, if your screen name is any indication, you're either 46 or 47 years old now and too old to be drafted and if you had kids, you probably did it when you were 18 or 19 and they're too old to be drafted too, so what do you care if all of our nation's young people are sent off to the Middle East to die so the Bush family and their friends can get a little richer, right? I mean, at least you're getting cheaper gas prices ... um, wait, no you're not.

are hard to read and overrun by illiterate morAns. I try not to visit them but sometimes I get sucked in by Springer-like curiosity. They make me depressed and test my faith in humanity.
