This post is late, but I am just curious how you feel about Bush speaking at your convention, while dissing the NAACP.
It was obvious that he was trying to use the convention as a pawn to show up the NAACP. Like,"hey, I can speak in front of black people, just not those black people."
I watched it on CNN, which did not show the audience reaction. You just heard the applause. Thank God for CSPAN, which showed the audience reaction.
Thank you, the National Urban League for treating him with the respect that he deserves. Extremely lukewarm, as he has shown the African American community.
Us, African Americans know that Powell and Condi don't really count where it matters. That's in the heart and minds of black folk.

When Bush was calling out to various members from the audiences, I just bet those people were embarrassed and docking their heads down in shame!
