Silver City Radio replaces Michael Savage
There was a thread a couple of days ago on LBN about the radio station pulling its liberal show due to pressure from advertisers.

Update: They're dropping Michael Savage and replacing it with Ed Schultze.

“We’re looking forward to having him,” said station owner Matthew Runnels. “I think it will be a breath of fresh air. But as with anybody, nobody will agree with everything he has to say on the issues. And hopefully our community can heal and move on and grow from the experience of the last weeks.”
When asked what the chances were for a return of the controversial Radio Free Silver!, Runnels was succinct.
“Slim to none,” he said. “At least for now. Emotions are way too high and too raw. Everybody’s on edge, pointing fingers and calling names. The best thing that could happen is for all of us to get together and chat one day.”
In an interview with the Sun-News Friday, Schultz was asked about his feelings on his show coming in on the heels of the Radio Free Silver! controversy.
“I’m coming into an unusual situation,” he said. “It’s sad to hear and it’s unfortunate that some people are so ideologically bent, that they would be compelled to disrupt the man’s profession. It’s heavy handed and I don’t think it speaks well for America. Why do you want to hurt somebody’s livelihood?”
But despite the controversy and the empathy for RFS and KNFT, Schultz expects his program to play well to the local listening audience.

1. That's nice and all...
Schultz is an improvement over the abominable Weiner, but if I were a Silver Cityite (and I know the town well enough as an El Paso native) I would prefer a local, independent voice over the nationally syndicated, always "safe" recent "democrat" convert Schultz.

But that's just me. I know a lot of DUers like Schultz and take him at his word that he really is a democrat. I just don't buy it. Anymore than I believe Alan Colmes is a democrat. They are playing characters - the right-winger's notion of what a liberal should be.

2. Wow. They got rid of Michael Savage
and put Ed Schultz in his place. That ought to rile up the Old Boy. Good Ole Michael has 5,000 megawatts of hatred for just about anybody, so I'm sure he'll gladly add Ed to that list.

I always think of the little girl in the Exorcist with green foam hanging out of her mouth when I listen to Michael Savage (which isn't often). Just a possessed type of guy.

4. A few weeks ago I gave into the temptation
and listened to his show for about five minutes ( all I can stand, he gauls me, too). He was actually saying Bush was too "liberal" ( stifle laughter) and that if Bush kept moving toward the left he wasn't going to vote for him. Wonder if this has anything to do with anything.
It was a wierd commentary

6. You're right. He does say that.
He's been saying that all along; that Bush and his henchmen are not conservative enough. He wants MORE. This is also the guy who keeps referring to the LIBERAL media. He truly thinks so!!!

Now imagine if you will, the world of Michael Savage. It's closer to the Taliban than you might think.
