Local headline:" Bush leads in Electoral Votes". Dems on TV sound robotic.
Edited on Sun Jul-25-04 10:05 AM by madfloridian
I have not heard a single person step up today on the news or talk shows to say this is not true. I turned off Face the Nation as the Democrats speaking looked and sounded almost robotic. Heck, all the speeches, even Dean's, are being written by Kerry staff.

Here are sites to refute this headine, but I don't see anything here today about it. I saw some last night. I posted the ap email address.
info@ap.org

Here are sites to use for reference.

I turned on two shows momentarily, felt an overwhelming sense of sadness or something like it, and turned them off. Then I saw the Ron Fournier piece in our local paper. Front page, top right. He has the power, you know. Our Democrats sound like robots now.

1. I really think that they have no idea what's going on.
They don't know one way or another. Anyone who has looked at an Ohio ro PA poll would know that Kerry is leading.

2. Unfortunately, most people believe the headlines.
Our Democratic leaders need to educate them and quit sounding so much like them. Letting this go by is outrageous.

3. Each of these 4 sites has Kerry ahead.
Reading the blog at two of them shows they are likely Republican sites. Not just one of them, all four have Kerry ahead.

4. Is it good that the polls don't show Kerry with a huge lead?
I mean, isn't it better if everyone who wants B*sh out thinks that they have to go to the polls so that they can make a difference. If Kerry were up by 10 points a lot of people may stay home. We need to get out the vote, and a close election will help.

5. My point is that Fournier is not telling the truth.
Did you check out the sites? It is not the truth, and no one is speaking out on it.

But that is ok. Obama just said Bush had good intentions for our country when he took us to war. See, all is ok. War is peace, up is down.

6. I don't really think so. If the story were "Bush is trailing" we could
begin talking in the media about "why the country is beginning to reject Bush's policies".

There is such a thing as the "bandwagon effect" where if your campaign looks prosperous then people start thinking better of you. All this does is reinforce the lie that Kerry's campaign hasn't gained any traction, which does not help him.

If the media keeps portraying Kerry as someone who voters won't warm up to, then it will hurt him. I don't understand why he hasn't responded to this.

Also, it pisses me off to no end that one AP article is used as the standard for the entire nation's media. This just shows how lazy they have become. AP is widely circulated to local newspapers and big media outlets, and apparently, no one bothers questioning it. It's also true when AP does a poll, their polls almost always have Bush ahead. This poll gets circulated around and suddenly the national media is talking about how Bush leads, even though every other poll could show Kerry with a lead.

9. And we all know that ap is appallingly deceptive in their
headlines!

8. HOw the hell could they know that bush leads in
"electoral votes"? Is that like in 2000 when the polls had bush winning more votes than Gore?
