Saw the "free speech zone" on CSPAN last night.

I was appalled

I wish Kerry & Edwards would denounce the free speech zone for the NewSpeak BS that it is. There should only be one free speech zone in America with the following boundries: from the mountains to the prairies to oceans white with foam. Protesters are calling the "protest pens" and the judge who reviewed the conditions there called it worse than a concentration camp. And then he ordered that they stay in place!

I disagree with 90% of the protesters, but goddammit those free speech zones are intolerable. Once we're afraid to talk to each other, democracy is basically over.

2. Media spin Sunday morning

NBC interviewed antiwar protestors. And the antiwar protestors were protesting the FSZ on camera instead of their cause.

Fair and balanced NBC should interview some of the Freepers who are there.

I haven't.

Any question what the coverage the the Republican Convention is going to be like?

4. Watching the coverage of the repuke convention,

you are going to think you are watching the coronation of a king -- a great and magnificent man -- held in awe and high esteem by all of his subjects.

Phrases like "headed toward a well-deserved second term" will fly from the lips of the media whores....and no voices of dissent will be heard inside or outside the convention hall.

Meantime, the Democratic convention will come to be symbolized by the razor-wired cage which every American will become familiar with this week - a "Homeland Security" measure - authorized at the highest levels - to bring shame and embarrassment to the trusting, naive Dems who've been suckerpunched once again.
