Bush has sown the seeds for a 21st century boodier than the 20th.
His administration,by adopting the agenda of the PNAC,has essentially declared war on the Muslim world.By characterizing all the actions of Arabs/Muslims as "terrorism" and actively collaborating with Israel in rejecting even legitimate Arab/Muslim interests, he has incurred the wrath of a billion Muslims worldwide. The revelations of torture at Abu Ghraib,Guantanamo and Bagram is going to spawn millions of Muslim warriors for generations to come.We can expect the most fearsome weapons with increasing lethality to employed in wars without mercy for the foreseeable future. As even the smallest of nations get armed with nuclear weapons, thanks to "rogue"states like Pakistan, even small conflicts that were containable at one time will no longer be limited.

Mr.Bush,in his march of folly, has sown the wind;it is for future generations of Americans and world citizens to reap the whirlwind.

Ambassador Wilson put it much more succinctly: We are f---ed.

1. All it takes is something stupid to set it off.

and this has already happened in spades.

I just hope we get even a piece of the true cross and maybe Jeruselum too.
Anyone for joining a Crusade ?

Its going to take 50 years to get beyond this.

I remember a quote from Otto Bismark, ( The Guns of August ) saying something like
" Some damn fool thing in the Balkins will set off the next war ."

What i wonder is HOW MANY wars are going to come out of this?

2. My sentiment exactly...

But let's have some hope that there's still a chance to reverse the trend.

I hate being so cynical, it's against my nature...

But you're right & it sometimes seems impossible not to be a complete pessimist regarding world affairs these days.

I think that we have to be outspoken like this about the worst possible case scenarios and at the same time, not believe our words so much that we lose hope and energy for change...

5. I really hope I am wrong.I want to be optimistic like you and other
Americans of goodwill. What I see and feel from the actions and words of this administration and the PNAC thugs is that they are out to impose American hegemony on the rest of the world and extricate Israel from its predicament of not having made peace with the Arabs. In this regard, Israel is historically in the same spot that the Apartheid regime of South Africa found itself with a small minority suppressing the rights of the majority. That demographic time bomb is ticking away while the PNAC group is conjuring up different ways of putting off the inevitable. At the moment, despite the high falutin' words about Democracy and Freedom it is clear that the message Bush and his buddy Sharon want to send to the Arabs is more
along the lines of what their pinup girl Ann Coulter wanted to do: kill all their men, steal all their oil and convert all of them to Christianity. This collusion between the oil hungry hegemonists like Cheney, Bush and Rumsfeld and the scared warmongers like Sharon is going to propel us toward catastrophe.

Unless we make a change in the next election, we are heading toward disater. Both the U.S. and Israel need to rethink the kind of people we entrust power to.

3. Shame that the
intolerant shape history and with this current horrendous messianic mentality, the blood will flow everywhere while the believers gaze in rapture and fear. Non-believers are not worth a thought.
