I see the trolls, hacks, and "dividers" will be out in full force |
|
Edited on Sun Jul-25-04 02:56 PM by devrc243
this week, actually from what I've seen on the tube and net it's already started. This week is too important for us to let them win. I've watched a hell of alot of conventions in my lifetime but NOT ONE compares to this one this week.
Looking for the "perfect" word from candidates, senators, ex-presidents, ex-vice-presidents, governors, mayors, and whoever else decides to speak, to justify supporting Kerry isn't what this election is about. WE need change in this country and we need it NOW. I for one have been waiting 3 and 1/2 LONG years for this moment and I'll be dammed if a bunch of "dividers" run it for us.

If everything is not exactly how I want it, then everyone involved in whatever's got me pissed off must be a Bush-lite enabler. :eyes:

Enough of what is happening in this country right now. We need to start the process of restoring sanity to this country, in every area of governance. Sanity will not be restored by the right taking us down this present path. Nor will it be restored by everyone putting on their Che' berets and lobbing bombs and manning barricades.
First things first: Get the Johns elected. That is manageable. Then...

It's going to get uglier and uglier until the next President is inaugurated. Just buck up, Child. Put on your armor and your face of flint and HUGE filters for your ears and eyes because both verbal and written crap is gonna be flying all over the place.
We can get through this. Keep smiling and sending positive Kerry vibes and mojo throughout the universe.....

it helps to keep my blood pressure down. I read newspapers and articles on the internet. They are much quieter. I don't listen to talk radio, either. Not even Air America, because I have to get it over the internet and it's kinda impossible right now with my schedule.
I have a feeling not watching TV is going to be a better and better thing as this year wears on. Now if something TRULY HUGE happens, I do tend to turn it on just to check things out on a more immediate basis.
But the talking heads? I take a pass on them. All of them.
On edit: I agree with others here....get the Johns elected. GET THEM ELECTED. THEN......

more aware of the criminal acts being done. I know yesterday, I had lunch in a quiet area and thought, none of these people are even thinking about or caring what is going on. And they only watch TV and still have no idea what is going on....
I find being more aware makes it even more important.

We must get rid of Bush without letting anyone suspect that it's the desire to get rid of Bush that ignites our fervor.

Everyone knows it's the desire to get rid of Bush that motivates us. In fact, that's what motivates most of America right now. It's all just a matter of how we articulate it. If you'd like to debate tactics, that's fine. But we shouldn't carve up our allies in the process.

The razor wire remark was sarcasm and I don't approve of the decision made by whoever to play nice-nice with convention rhetoric.
Unfortunately, debating tactics at this point is futile.

We can only make things better if John Kerry is elected.

but you're out of your head if you think the only problem is GW Bush. He's just a symptom of the disease.
Of course if one dares to criticize even a little, or march outside of lockstep, one is declared a perfection-seeking traitor.
Censoring dissent doesn't solve the Democratic Party's problems.

BIGGER PROBLEMS and no, I'm not out of my head. I had "dubya" for governor before we had the pleasure of his "endowment" in the WH and I knew in 2000 that he would be a flop. He was as governor and is even MORE SO as President.
He IS the problem, that along with his cronies.
And as for "criticism"... even just a "little," doesn't have anything do with being a so-called "perfection-seeking traitor." There is a huge difference in critical DEBATE and outright slandor. They are not one in the same.
This week is suppose to shine for the Democrats...we deserve it!

Their message is spent and is meaningless. They have nothing but worn out RW talking points to sell, and no one's buying. The pubs themselves are second guessing the chimperor. I saw it again today at my nephew's graduation party, in heavily puke community the support for chimpy is almost non-existent.

|
Edited on Sun Jul-25-04 07:22 PM by depakote_kid
by giving Bush a pass and not highlighing the hundreds of outrages that this administration has purpetrated over the past 4 years. Playing Mr. nice guy and not focusing people on issues that the media will almost certainly NEVER bring up, the Kerry camp in effect legitimizes them to some extent.
Some of us also see a lack of a coherent strategy to nationalize the election and win back the House and Senate. What's happened in the House, in the past 10 years is equally outrageous- and we'll be sure to get even more of it unless their actions are exposed and individual Republicans are held accountible for walking lock step with Tom Delay.

I'm not naiive enough to believe that Kerry is the perfect candidate, but Jeez, consider the alternative! Bush is an utter fascist, and 4 more years of that nutjob will be unimaginable! It's time to rally 'round our guys. There's plenty of time later to express what we'd like them to do differently, but it won't do any good if they're not in a position to effect any change. There's a time for blind ideology, but that time is not now.
