That is an unfortunate truth. He has divided this nation because he knows no other way. Why do people hate him, they ask? Well, he is the type of person that invites hate and anger. He is like the school bully in the fifth grade that would threaten other kids and call them names. He enjoyed putting firecrackers in little frogs. He is an arrogant asshole. There is not much to like about him, honestly. If he were not a "divider', he would have very little support in this country.

14. I'm sitting here looking at my bookshelf at a book

that I read a few years ago - by John Douglas - "Anatomy of Motive". Basically, it is a psyco profile of violent criminals. It's ironic because last nite I was watching a "Law and Order" and they gave the same basic profiling - starting in childhood - bed-wetting - killing animals - and setting fires (which BTW is actually a sexual motivated act).

He is like an old puffer fish, all puffed up with hubris. He is a little man, morally and mentally. He seems to thinks he is in control, but he has puppet masters that control his every move. He flubs the material his handlers give him to say, and God look out if he tries to wing it. I try not to make judgements about the state of one's soul--that's between the individual and God--but I do know that the Bible says, "By their works you shall know them" (born-again Christians). It's not that unheard-of for Christians to stumble and act anything BUT Christian, but I have to wonder why the right-wing Christians are so willing to take Bush at his word and not give a whit about his actions. As long as he says he prays to Jesus every morning and is anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage, for prayer in schools and says God speaks directly to him--these RW-Christians are totally oblivious to his lies, lies and more lies. And they persist in tagging Iraq a "righteous war". You are correct that without his religious right base he has nothing. I'm praying more and more of them will see the light and see Bush for what he really is.
