Is he nuts? I can see maybe thousands leaving for vacation because of the security that might be a hassle for locals. But 100,000+ does he even report facts anymore? He's also still peddling the Berger with note in socks crap. I hope someone taped this.

1. Boston proper is only 480,000 or so.
So I guess he's full of crap.

Suprised?

A lot of people left Atlanta in '96 to avoid Olympics hassle.

Big deal.

And most of the security strongarming has come from the Federal gov't.

2. Well, the city is pretty crowded
my neighborhood in Cambridge, which is normally deserted on summer weekends because people got to the Cape, was full of people this weekend.

3. This is the same guy that said...
...a soldier had more chance being killed walking around in LA than serving in Iraq. He can shut the fuck up until he ships out and takes a walk around Kirkuk in his underwear, holding a sign that says, "I support US terror troops."

No, facts don't matter to him. Why are you watching Fox? That shit is poisonous, all the cable news networks are.

The twitching in my left eye from too much Fox has subsided a tad :)

18. micropenisitis
LOL

I'm reading Larry Flynt's Sex, Lies and Politics which skewers the GOP and traces much of repuke meanness to sexual repression. So micropenisitis and limp dick disorder aren't far off the mark.

5. Thats' odd...
it is the same number the RW quoted as the number in attendance at all the anti-war protests. The RW must love the number 100,000.

6. On Fox, Isn't He???
That sez it all! They can't count and couldn't tell the truth if they really had to.

No, I can't see that many leaving...are there 100,000 that live there???

Sudie (in the woods)!

8. there are a TON of people
working from home or not going into the city to work as a result.

I personally know of 10 people in a single office who arent going in to work due to the DNC.

100,000+ is pretty absurd but it's probably not as far from the truth as many would like to believe.

10. Maybe the DNC should have had its convention...
...on a couple linked cruise ships off the coast of NY.

Oh, wait, that was Tom Delays idea, although I think he wanted to use leaky oil tankers.

16. The population total in the city is about 650,000
However, a lot of the "people leaving the city" are suburbanites who are taking their vacations next week because the commute, especially from the north shore, will be impossible, or so much of a hassle that they'd spend hours on the road trying to go around the city to get to it.

I don't buy that a sixth of the population is leaving.

21. They reported 70% a couple of weeks ago
...said they were leaving town, but then I heard the poll wasn't scientific. I hope everyone DOES leave. I gotta get in and out of work at the Aquarium, just down the street from the Fleet Center, and it's going to be chaos out there. They're shutting down six MILES of Rte 93, the fabled central ahtery, from Medford down to Braintree, starting in the late afternoon, and Mayor Menino has asked that all businesses let people out at 3pm.
