America as a third-world country = Good for Republicans?
I heard a projection the other day... I think it mightve been on this site...that America would be a third-world country by 2030.

I been thinking lately, isn't it entirely possible that Bush wants America to be a third-world country? Think about it, in third-world countries, there's always a few really rich people, and the rest of the people are dirt-poor. That's whats happening right now ain't it? The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. So wouldn't it be beneficial to the people at the top if the rest of their fellow citizens had no money (and thus, in our society, no power?)

I mean, people at the bottom always get screwed by those at the top, and Bush always helps the people at the top. So couldn't he just be waging class warfare by running the country into the ground? It would make sense with all his tax cuts.

Just wondering.

2. Not good for the world at all, but...
If we're poor, Bush and his buddies are still rich, and we can do nothing to stop them (short of guerilla war.)

4. thirdworldization
that situation is what MAKES countries like those in Africa a "third world country". It is really the DEFINITION of third world.

So, yes, I agree. And it is not just Bush1 & 2, but Clinton, too.

The GOP has moved the country inexorably to the right over the last 30 years by using the media to brainwash people, and the Dems just triangulate and follow along happy as can be, staying just a little to the left of the GOP.

So you tell me who benefits? The ruling elite. THe politicians, the doctors, the corporations, the investor class (those who live off of their investments), all those at the top of the major institutions.
