They spend all their time hating us on a variety of issues, but then they turn around and say all we have is hate and anger. Interesting projection.

I mean, they attack Affirmative Action, they attack anti-discrimination laws, they attack Social Security and Medicare, and then they say that we have nothing? All they have is hating our issues - issues which most Americans support, by the way.

The essential message of the right-wing is that they are still pissed off that a bunch of teenagers in the '60s were noisy and boisterous and used bad language on demonstrations. And they are so angry about it that they are rioting at polling places and using profanity at press conferences and on the Senate floor.

Well, you know, we may have laughed at Abbie Hoffman's jokes, but we didn't vote him into office. Although I suspect that had we done so, he still would have taken a more sober and responsible attitutude toward the job.

Behaving like a teenager when you're 15 is one thing, but these people aren't 15, and people's lives are in their hands, and they still act like the most irresponsible of teenagers. They're even still railing against the establishment, and they are the establishment!

They really, really need to get over it.
