My feeble attempt with CNN
Well, I wrote them. Marked it as positive and tried to make it short. Oh, well. *sigh*

"Constructive criticisms here...
1) When reporting things such as the Heinz-Kerry incident, please report the WHOLE STORY.

The "reporter" is a neo-con conservative COLUMNIST. He hounded Kerry-Heinz with paparazzi-style tactics not to report or research, but to CREATE a story that could shine a negative light on the Kerrys.

The paper he writes for is owned by Richard Mellon-Scaif. Scaif is a major contributor to Bush/Cheney and the GOP.

2) In an attempt to provide the viewers both sides (which I commend), better control needs to be taken of the "rapid response" team's gobbling of the limited time. I see Democrats wanting to make a point and being politely patient. Meanwhile, the Republicans keep talking without stopping and no acknowledgement is given to them by the CNN anchor. (Review the segment with Drier and Ford last night on Blitzer). Like it or not, this is the Democrats time to shine and so far it's beginning to look like favoritsm toward Republicans.

Please report the whole story and control the guests! I'd like to continue watching CNN, especially during the Democratic Convention. But if things such as this keep continuing, I'm going to have to change the channel."

3. Here's some ammo
I posted a link to the Heinz Endowment site earlier:

They document the smear tactics of the Tribune-Review.

5. is it worth the effort?
I keep writing into these guys too, and get the same generic response and I don't believe they even read it. What we all need to do is shut down our cable\SAT systems and donate those funds to PBS. You realize Rupert Murdock (??) owns the SAT companies (both), so all we are doing is funding the very people who oppress us. Just like we work for the very companies which oppress us, but what can you do about that...you have to work, but you don't hafta have DirecTV or Dish.

8. At least you got a response!
So far, the only thing in my email box is "Subject: Want fuller lips? Sexy lips in 90 seconds"

*tapping foot for auto response acknowledgement*

Yes, I think it's worth the effort.

16. "Write" it on your computer, print it out, sign it, and MAIL it
That's the best way to get a real response.. The computer generated responses are what we get with e-mail.. unless it's to Aaron Brown.. He DOES write back personally.. He's got verrrry thin skin, though..and gets downright nasty :)

6. I also sent an e-mail. To no avail I am sure. But this is the last thing
I am doing today before turning the TV OFF. I am going to vote for Kerry and work for the dem campaigns. WHY LISTEN TO ALL THIS SICKENING COVERAGE?
Here is what I sent:
EDITORIAL SLANT: CNN is obviously biased towards the Republicans (trying to outFox Fox?).
A case in point. Mrs. Teresa Heinz-Kerry brouhaha during speech to the Pennsylvania delegation: you need to report NEWS not pro-republican sound bites. Mrs. Teresa Heinz-Kerry's encounter did not happen with a "journalist" but with a right-wing "opinion" writer: Colin McNickle writes for the Tribune-Review, a republican rag owned by Mr. Scaife of Democratic-persecution fame. He was hounding Mrs. Heinz-Kerry in order to elicit “incriminating” statements. Nothing else could be expected from that type of “journalist.” If somebody had dared hound the Republicans like this, you would have focused on the hounding and not on the exchange.
Democratic convention coverage in general: you question EVERYTHING the democrats may say… question with a smirk, like you don’t believe their answers. The facial expressions are precious but they have absolutely nothing to do with “journalism” and a lot to do with bias and lack of journalistic skills and ethics. Then you go to the “Republican Truth???? Squad” and let them babble on without ONE SINGLE question about their statements. WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?
I was hoping to obtain good reporting from CNN during the convention but I was delusional. I did not have access to cable before, and obtained it to follow the campaigns. The only result of watching you is my determination to cancel my cable subscription. Your reporting, and the majority of the cable news reporting, is worse than WORTHLESS. It is biased, un-professional and, let’s say it, UNETHICAL. When you fail to report what has happened to this country during the Bush administration you are working against the country and its best interests.

11. The only comment that falls on deaf ears...
...is the unspoken one. If we're saying it, at least we have a CHANCE of being heard.

10. That's GREAT Liburl!!
Now keep sending it, or a reworded version - over and over and over again! Richard Dreyfuss was on Unfiltered this morning and he said that this is the only way we're going to win. Repetition.

Bravo!! Great job Liburl!!

14. We have got to keep monitoring these Media Creeps

If we just give up and stop watching we will never know what they are saying.

We are activists and we must keep sending emails, writing to everyone, calling all who are making it difficult for any good message to get out.

If we turn off the TV stations they are winning.
They want us to not listen. They are not talking to us. They are talking to the sheep and the Sheep are innocent and they are listening.

17. GORE IS LIKE A JUNKYARD DOG!!! one of their guys said that around 2:12 pm
So I sent them this e-mail:
POSITIVE FEEDBACK FOR TRUE JOURNALISTS of which you have none. (Note: I selected the positive choice for feedback to see if they start reading it!)

WHAT IS THE REASON TO CALL GORE "a junkyard dog?" ARE YOU NUTS? Why the lack of respect for somebody who is a NATIONAL figure and for whom he majority of Americans voted in 2000?

WHO ARE YOUR USELESS republican parrots passing for "journalists" to insult a national figure? Why don't you call BUSH A MISERABLE AWOL who was selected by the Supreme Court? That would be the only thing that could come close to your description of Al Gore.

(Note: and below is the copy of my previous e-mail ... in case they ever read either one of them -this is the same that I have in another post on this thread)

And I had sent this before, but perhaps you have not read it so here it goes again:
