What are Bush's policies on immigration?
I don't think I've heard him mention it.

1. he's for a temporary guest worker policy
Edited on Mon Jul-26-04 02:28 PM by rene moon
He introduced one in early January but has done diddly squat since then. It is not a very good plan, either.

here is what is wrong with it:
1. The proposal provides no path to permanency or citizenship
2. An American workforce comprised of potentially millions of temporary workers is a weakened and marginalized workforce.
3. Does not create a clear incentive for workers currently in the U.S. to enroll
4. The program’s efforts to further control the borders and enhance homeland security could actually result in instilling more fear in the immigrant community.
5. The President’s proposal ignores the plight and promise of immigrant students.

And that's just for starters!
