F/911 has made more $ than *ANY* Disney film this year
" Moore pointed out that the film had now made more money at the box office than any film this year made by Disney, which funded the film through its ownership of the Miramax studio but refused to distribute the finished product.

"If you had told me when we were going through all the pre-distribution problems with Disney that this film would gross more than any other Disney film this year, I don't even know how to respond to that," he said."

1. Michael Eisner Better Polish Up His Resume
I get the feeling he's gonna need it once the Disney stockholders get wind of this story.....

2. It certainly burried their doc "Heart and Soul"
I note they used that phrase extensively to no help for the film. And also "Hidalgo" (a texas cowboy rides through the middle east and conquers them all, yeehaw!)

Wait till Manchurian Candidate comes out!

4. I guess he's not counting Kill Bill Vol. 2
It was released by Miramax, which is the same division of Disney that provided the $6 Million to complete F 9/11. KB Vol. 2 had a worldwide gross of $146 Million. It cost approximately $60 Million though, so Fahrenheit 9/11 is still the winner in terms of net.
It's truly amazing for F9/11, but it also illustrates exactly how badly Disney films are doing this year. Thank goodness for Disney's sake that they had a stellar 2003 with Finding Nemo and Pirates of the Caribbean, as well as several other profitible releases. However, we're not through the Christmas season yet, so Disney may still have a good 2004.
