Gee, what are the chances that Dems will be on every channel for the RNC? |
|
Ya think Judy Woodruff will sit down with say, Mark Green, for commentary?
Will Eric Altermannnnn get to do a play by play?
Will Neil Cavuto sit down with Joe Conason and ask him what the Republicans "need" to do to win?
Will Brokaw give Wesley Clark the spotlight?
Will Mario Cuomo get a few hours to comment on Dick Cheney's speech?

1. Yeah, that's the problem for a reincarnation of the Fairness Doctrine, too |
|
They'd have to hire a whole second set of TV personalities.

Bill Schneider can pretend to be liberal on odd-numbered days.

They feel that horning in on our convention is the only way to keep Kerry from taking off.

Funny how the "liberal media" is suddenly so skeptical of what a politician says.
CNN even has a reporter dedicated to covering the protests. Suddenly protests get coverage!

5. That'll Be Up To The DNC, Too |
|
There's a lot of Repugnicans in Boston on the RNC tab...mouthpieces ready to go anywhere Chipmunk Gillespie or Uberfuhrer Rove dispatches them...spin in mouth. Yep...expect CNNservative and Faux to give these shills vast amounts of time and the questioning of Democrats will be wired in direct from RNC battle central. Every aspect will be viewed with suspect.
At the RNC, you'll have the "regular contributors". CNNservative will have Carville & Begala...Maggie Carlson and Al Hunt vs. the horde like Judas Goldberg, Novakula and a ton of GOOPie "scribes".
A good example of how bad things are is the credibility these assholes have given Howie Carr. Talk about bashing! You know there's no way a CNNservative will let on an Alterman or Josh Marshall or Randi Rhodes. Evidence provided...case closed.

|
can you imagine if they asked that question of Republicans re: Kerry?

8. The chances are poor if we just sit on our duffs and do nothing. |

But if we CALL and WRITE and EMAIL - at least we have a chance!!
For use this week -- CNN's viewer-comment line, 404-827-0234. Thanks to DeepModem Mom...

They refused to say whether or not the RNC con will get the same sort of coverage, with partisan Dems on the convention floor offering their advice.

The operators are just supposed to take your comments, and aren't allowed to respond. At least I know a human's recording it, and not a machine. Cripes - at least it's a chance we'll be heard.

"Oh, we're being yelled at by the liberals as well as the conservatives? Well, then we must be doing something right."
Typical smug-media response.
Personally, I'm glad that CNN's "gavel to gavel coverage" doesn't extend to actually giving coverage to people speaking at the podium. Because when I want "gavel to gavel coverage," what I really want is an endless parade of New Republic and National Review stooges.

a full week of "flipflopper" and the like, with not a single cry of "Well, if Bush expects to win he has to provide a positive vision for this country, not bash Kerry."
Could you imagine an alternate universe where the news channels attacked Bush every single day for being so negative?
