They then show Kerry trying to embrace the catcher in military uniform and the catcher appears to brush Kerry off. What's up with that? The catcher looked like a typical Repuke, and he could have EASILY caught that ball. Was the catcher trying to embarrass Kerry? Lastly, next time, Kerry should simply shake hands and not attempt to embrace everyone, especially someone in military uniform.

1. That was my thought too

Why didn't they just let the Red Sox catcher catch the damn ball?

The guy they picked either was incompetent or missed in intentionally.
Someone probably thought that a military person made a better
photo op. I've already heard from Novacula that Kerry was throwing
a "wild picth"... (it was right down the middle, maybe a little in
the dirt for the catcher but any reasonable ball player could have
come up with it).

2. The booers were all the rich season ticket holders
And I welcome their boos. Let's just wait and see how Massachusetts, and perhaps even all of New England, votes this Fall to settle this matter. I feel fairly confident.

3. It's not shocking at all
I remember Bush getting booed at a the Daytona 500 in February. Wherever a politican goes, even if it's in very friendly territory, there will probably be at least 30 % that don't support him.
