Scarborough just said he would sleep better at night knowing Kerry
was in the WH. He said he might disagree with 90% of his stances on the issues, but he would feel confident with him in the WH after hearing the Rev. crew member endorse him and speak of his efforts in VietNam. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it was the closest thing to an endorsement from Scarborough for Kerry that he ever heard, then of course Tweety cut him off and switched to another set....

48. I shit when he said that...
.. I don't know if it was because Andrea Mitchell was making him look/feel stupid all night, or if he was really impressed by WJC characterization of him.

He also carried on with the "sleep better at night.." thing through his after hours show with Ron Reagan.

Maybe he's trying to appeal to a more diversified audience now since he knows that the next 4-8 years it's going to be tough trying to push conservative views/hate every night.

I DO believe he was sincere though!

You don't know how right you are, Doc! He said this on Hardball on May 1, 2003:

"We’re proud of our president. Americans love having a guy as president, a guy who has a little swagger, who’s physical, who’s not a complicated guy like Clinton or even like Dukakis or Mondale, all those guys, McGovern. They want a guy who’s president. Women like a guy who’s president. Check it out. The women like this war."

Especially when the winner can make it very diffcult for you stay in business. Everybody thinks that the mainstream media will attack President Kerry as viciously as they did President Clinton. But if Kerry were to start dropping hints about reinstating the Fairness Doctrine or having his FCC do a "study" of the relationship between big business and big media, things would get "fair and balanced" again in a BIG hurry!!!

shocked that he softened, yes, that's true. But what got to him was Kerry's crew member, the reverend. He was truly reacting to the reverend's speech and he remarked that the bravery of man at such a young age stays with him all of his life and makes and molds the man. If this speech affected Scarborough, just imagine how many on the fence it might have affected.

If you had seen his face, it was weird and he did appear sincere.

steady. It was part of a bit about whether being in war was a big factor in elections. Scarborough mentioned Nixon after the mess of LBJ's VietNam problem...

He clearly indicated that Kerry would represent a steady hand....

Earlier, Fineman also mentioned this..he said Clinton had given Kerry his identity.....as a "steady hand"....

31. Why do people post Free Republic Trash

It is totally hilarious those clowns ragging Kerry being in Vietnam...some saying he "only stayed 4 months" and others saying he "put his men in danger"...yada yada yada

What the hell was their guy doing?

Are they this stupid to rip Kerry's service when they have a complete putz as a candidate?

If I was one of them I'd keep my Mfing mouth shut about service in the military. Leading Democrats like Kerry, Dick Gephardt, Tom Daschle and others served while leading Republicans like Bush, FU Cheney, Tom Delay, Trent Lott and most of the entire lot dodged wars in one way or another.

This is the most disgusting thing about the Republicans...They don't mind sending your kids off to war so they can thumb a bible and wave a flag under a drunken stupor of jingoistic zeal in hoping to win votes from the Toby Keith crowd.

At the end of the day they are all cowardly and hypocritical assholes.

43. check this post out: woman saying that Bush admin. staffers planning exit
"I was at a recent conference on election law and got into a discussion on the positives/negatives of the Bush campaign and his chances for re-election. I haven't been thrilled with the rope-a-dope strategy and a bunch of us were going back and forth. A bit later, I overheard a woman who had been saying Bush was a goner getting lectured by another woman who said, "You really shouldn't be saying Bush can't win to the base like that. They're the one's who need to be energized and working hard. BUT you're right, you know. I work at an investment banking firm and do a lot of business in DC and was told that many low level members of the administration have been told to plan their 'exit strategy' and have been sucking up to the Dems and Kerry people in hopes of staying on next year." I stood there thinking to myself that it looks like there will be a lot of jumping ship if Bush doesn't pull ahead in the polls soon. I don't think the confidence is there to wait for a late surge in Sept/Oct."
