Not to wade into the swamp of the darkside this quickly but |
|
what do you think the Republican convention is going to be like? What hope will they offer?
I think this is the way it's going to go.
"Be afraid, very afraid! There's all them terraists out there.
"All them baby killers are out there trying to abort the human race into extinction."
"Families are being destroyed by women who go to work and don't accept their destiny to be stay-at-home mommies."
"There's a big old cloud out there that will only go away with oil, lots of it.
"God has chosen the way. No use fighting it. No free will or choice here. It's commin, the end."
"So y'all be sure to vote for George W. Bush before the end comes. He'll put in a word with the Big Guy who talks to him every day during happy hour."

We know there is terriost out there but we have terriost here who are trying to destroy marriage by letting those of the same sex who love one another get married.

It will be a big one too for them to incite more hate and fear.

2. Rove's head will split by that point - Clinton provided such a rich |

and hugely complex set of concepts for Rove to chew on - it has got to be overwhelming!
One simple one:
Kerry: send me bush: don't send me

and the now popular "very existence of the American family" which is code word for anti-gay marriage.

5. The GOP convention will be a poor attempt at humour |
|
Schwartzenegger, McCain, Cheney, Bush.
They won in 2000 and 2003 because they had the best one-liners.
I think most people have realized it's not a joke any more. While I still think people will vote for a good wit over a good plan, the areas in which Bush and Cheney can appear funny are quite small.
The election may come down to an October surprise. At that point, it becomes anyone's guess. The media will choose the president. If they fawn over Bush, he wins. If they feel shafted for having done so, he loses. But the convention does nothing to boost Bush. McCain and the cyborg can't and won't make the case for Bush.

7. Please dont be scary.... |

They are fawning over Bush most of the time. When CNN put that moronic reporter who bugged THK on tonite and didn't eat his lunch, I despaired.

11. I think we will see a rift |
|
between the paleoconservatives(old time repubs) and the neocon/fundies. Maybe not this election cycle, but 2006.
I see the neocon/fundies being made irrelevant. Unless...
We may see 4 parties before too much longer. Not sure what that means electorially though. Maybe a straight popular count with candidates from all 4 parties. I wonder how that works elseware. There be less winner takes all partisan politics I would think with more than 2 parties.
I don't know, have to consult my Magic 8 Ball.
Nutz, "Ask again later". So much for the 8 ball.
