Tonight made me realize something: It's the GOP who should HATE Bush
He squandered so much for some short term poltical gain and tax cuts for the rich. If he had done the right things after 9/11, the GOP could have had the White House for decades.

1. it's just like what we read about bush today, riding his mountain bike,
which he is unfamiliar with, but still rides it full speed and with no concern. He ends up crashing every time. What he has done to the GOP won't be fixed any time soon.

So glad Jimmy CArter brought this up with the caveat of it's not good to depend on polls.

14. I'll have to go back to Bush on the Couch and read the parts
where the author nails bush on the head - basically but roughly - as I recall, he says bush rides the bike or does other exercise (to excess, for instance he has ruined his knees jogging) in order to (bush says) 'Clear my head.'

In Bush on the Couch. . . Dr Frank says bush's psyche is so screwed up/damaged he has constant dissonance in his mind - his head is actually NOT clear but overloaded. He can't deal with anything remotely complex, everything is either black or white, good or bad to him AND he spends most of his conscious time and energy trying to stay sober and on track - part of which is trying to remain (in his mind) a perfect physical specimen.

Anyway, the extreme bike riding is (I think Frank would say) just another iteration of bush trying to cope with his extreme psychological and sociological dysfunction.

12. The neocons had an agenda for Iraq even before 2000
Carter said it tonight. This fact has known for a long time here on DU.

I don't know about you guys, but I feel like the Party has been reading the posts here in DU. Many of the points in the speeches tonight had been hammered out right here over the last few years.

Somebody has been reading our mail.

The GOP should be upset, Bu$h will be their undoing for a long time. Think about how he managed to disposed McCane pre 2000. The GOP got wacked by the neocon/fundies, like all the rest of us.

You can bet the repub convention will have sparks flying. The Democrats have never been this united. And they can thank Bu$h for that.

13. They will, in time, hate him...
...when it is safe for them to do so. Don't expect any heroics from them just yet, but do watch for violent acts of desperation from Parallax, Inc.
