I consider the Republican Party to be on notice as of now......
To the Republican Party of the United States of America:

I'll get straight to the point. I don't normally deal in such words, but I have to say it: you have an evil in your party. A creeping crud that has infected everything it has touched. You have allowed it to take over and dement your party, you have allowed it to crumble our international relations, you have allowed it to cause damage to this country and to the world completely unchecked.

Consider yourselves, as a party, to be on notice. Chances are, the Democratic party will be in control of the Executive branch of this country's government after this election. You have exactly four years to identify and root out the rotting, festering evil in your party and try to be whole again.

Some of you are decent people, no doubt. Some of you are in my family, you are my friends and neighbors. You haven't been paying any attention. It is past time for you to sit up and start doing so. You ignore my words at your party's peril.

Signed,
A Citizen of the US
A Democrat Forever

1. Good Words! You are so right on... the bigger they got the
more rotten they've become.

2. When I wrote that
I was thinking of my neighbor and friend, Kim. Good woman, good heart. Over the past few years, through me and some other people, she has come to the point that she has completely abandoned her homophobia and is now a supporter of full gay rights (it took her about five years). She now CRIES when she sees stories on the news of setbacks in gay rights.

She still votes republican every time. I think it's habit. And she doesn't pay attention at ALL. Thinks everything is hunkey dorey even though her own family has been hit hard by this administration--she was laid off in February after 20 years with the same airline, still hasn't found another job, her son is in college and they are dealing with sky-high tuition.

She won't put the dots together. I've tried to show her. But she won't see it.

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil....right?

I'm serious about my original post. They are ON notice.

3. It is very good--you should send it as a LTTE.
It would be a shame for it not to be read by a general audience (that includes repugs--they are the ones that REALLY need to hear this)!

I wish I was as eloquent as you are!
