I Saw the Movie "The Corporation" on Saturday.
Noam Chomsky, Michael Moore, and others appear in the documentary "The Corporation," in theaters now. "The Corporation" is co-directed by Mark Achbar and Jennifer Abbott.

The movie explores the problem that corporations are legally obligated to put shareholder profits above all else, including the public good.

The movie emphasizes that CEOs aren't bad. The issue is the structure of corporations and their place in our society.

Kathie Lee Gifford also appears in the movie.

4. I put my review at

Basically, I recommend the movie, but I wish there had been an intermission.

After 2 hours (it's 2 1/2 hours) I felt like I was presented with enough information to take in at once.

I look forward to re-watching it on dvd, when that comes out.

I also ordered the book it's based on, "The Corporation: The Pathological Pursuit of Profit and Power," by Joel Bakan.

5. I just got back from seeing it.

Somebody had set up a table outside the theater and I was able to sign about six worthwhile petitions. But Moore wants me to do more, and I'll certainly try.

It was an extremely thought-provoking film. It is interesting to see how corporations started out and what they've become. I really liked the guy who said they're due for a crash.

Corporations are Shelley's "Ozymandias" of our time.

6. There a list of organizations
one can join at the movie website:

But personally, I'm most interested in the November elections between now and then.
