Okay. Can someone help me understand this? |
|
(1) Presidential contender apparently "loses" election, the "wins" election based on voting irregularities -- IN PRESIDENTIAL CONTENDER'S BROTHER'S state!!! And election is "called" early by presidential contender's cousin. AND "state's rights" Supreme Court "selects" the president by stopping vote recount. Media say NOTHING except, "Gore lost. Get over it."
What if that had been Clinton?
(2) After election, hundreds of thousands of voters are found to have been ILLEGALLY purged from voter roles because their names were eerily similar (NOT!) to convicted felons. The only crime of these voters, however, was to be "voting while black." AND this happened in the presidential contender's brother's state.
What if that had been Clinton?
President and Vice President award multi-billion dollar, no-bid contracts to mega-multi-national corporation -- which the Veep headed until JUST PRIOR to going into the White House.
What if that had been Clinton and Gore?
(3) Under selected president, US breaks every major treaty to which we've been a signatory in the last 40 years, then wages preemptive war against oil-rich country. To get buy-in, pres-select lies BIG TIME about all the doomsday weapons in this little country -- which apparently are vaporware.
What if Clinton had done that?
(4) pResident-select takes extended vacation approximately twice per month. Is NEVER in D.C. during crisis times; always chopping brush and falling off bicycles on his "ranch."
What if that had been Clinton?
--------------
I know we've been discussing these very things for the last 4 years, but I swear, the Dem Convention just brings it all up again. If I stretch, I can imagine scenarios where the media are working in their "best interests" to support the 'Pukes.
But I SWEAR TO GOD, I cannot imagine why this country in general -- good, decent people like my mom -- haven't taken to the streets. I mean, they did when the Big Dawg was in the WH.
Unless I've moved into some alternate dimension, I SO don't understand what's happened to the general electorate. {{{bangs head against table}}}

1. it's the media, stupid |
|
no, you're not stupid! but it is the catchphrase that keeps giving, and this is the noun that fits very well in this scenario.
