Best joke of the night?
Edited on Tue Jul-27-04 12:28 AM by jpgray
I liked Clinton's 'resentment' of all the attention Edwards was getting. Also Gore's empathy with laid off Americans who have less glamorous jobs created for them. :D

1. Yeah, but he left off the "sex appeal" part....
I guess Big Dawg didn't want to go there on that one :)

2. That Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton...
...both graced the same stage as members of the same party.

Seeing Carter made me sad and wistful for American potential that has withered on the vine.

And regardless of what I think of him otherwise, Clinton's a damn fine orator. He's certainly gifted in that regard.

3. That's being a little hard on Clinton, but I hear you
A lot of the Clinton 'new democrat' policies don't sit well with me at all. Carter was a lot more hard-line on Bush than I expected, for a convention AND for Carter.

6. James Earl Carter...
...is a REAL Democrat, a man who backs up his words with his actions, and has lived the ideals of public service first and foremost. How sad that someone of his rare breed deserves fourfold the accolades and honor dumped on the Gipper a couple months ago, yet when he passes away, he'll be given cursory treatment.

When he was POTUS, someone like Clinton would have been considered a tolerable Republican.

Remember John Anderson?

4. Yeah, Clinton talking about Edwards was probably the best
Although I liked Clinton's "My tax break" line almost as much.

5. Clinton: "When I was in office, the Republicans were kinda mean to me"
