Why is Teresa's statement of "Shove It" worse than Cheney's...
"Go Fuck Yourself"??

I think that Teresa could have definitely handled it better, dont get me wrong...but I've heard it on the news, on the news again, on the local news...on freaking entertainment tonight...all over the internet...

And yet, I think that saying "Go Fuck Yourself" to a senator is worse, and yet it didn't get much real airtime at all...

I dont get it!??!

And quite frankly I'd have less of a problem with being told to Cheney off if the party wasn't so duplicitous about it. They equivocate, rationalize, ignore, then shift. By the end of the day, wingnuts were spewing their typical illogic, claiming the comment was never made, but if it was, it was deserved.

I know what Tereasa said. And it was deserved. I claim no perfection.

They set themselves up as a great moral giant, so they're bound to take a great fall.

7. Because Cheney was talking to Sen. Leahy, a Democrat
From the POV of the major media whores, Democrats are subhuman, and any attacks on them by republicans are simply the equivalent of a slave owner rightfully whipping his slaves. It is good and proper that VP Cheney told Sen. Leahy to fuck himself on the floor of the senate, but Teresa is a female and a Democrat, hence should be construed as uppity and out of place for speaking disrespectfully to a reporter.

They can say fuck yourself because "he deserved it" but she can't say shove it because by God, that's crass!!

10. Because Democrats won't stand up for themselves.
It's basically an abusive relationship, where Republicans have learned that by abusing the media, they have created the freedom to abuse Democrats in any way they want, with complete media assistance.

How else but through an abusive relationship does someone get away with saying the crudest and nastiest thing, in the most innapropriate place, and when called on it say basically, 'too bad, I felt like it'? While one-fiftieth the reverse gets ongoing attention and disapproval? It's because Democrats don't want to make a fight out of anything, while Republicans are willing to make a fight out of everything or even nothing at all.

The worst thing of all is that, because their rigid ideology is a never-ending trip to hell, by not wanting to fight we end up either fighting all the time or getting killed all the time. It's a no-win situation, especially if you just take it.

Democrats should be saying "Go Cheney yourself" and "Cheney you" and "What a Cheneying jerk" at every opportunity. For the next two years. It should be the equivalent of 'getting a Monica'; it should be part of everyday language. That's how Repubs play and if you don't want to get hit over the head with a club, then you better start clubbing the people who are clubbing you.

Tereza shouldn't have to do anything. Everybody else should be doing it for her.

14. It isn't. You must understasnd how Totalitarian Media works
That is likely your problem. If you consider the current Amerikan media to be a "Free Press", then you will be evermore confused.

But if you understand that it isn't free, but closer to the machinations of Soviet Pravda, Imperial Amerikan-style, then suddenly it makes sense.

Cheney is not just a Party Member but the Joe Stalin of the Busheviks. Wulsd Soviet Pravda make a big deal of that.

The Herrys are the Tortskys for the Busheviks, to be discredited ALWAYS (they are lucky Imperial Amerika isn't YET to the point where it openly Gulags opposition politicians).

Understabnd that you are NOT watching the Free Press of a Free Nation.

Imperial Amerika has none and IS NOT.

15. She's a strong woman
And she is not going to put up with any BS from a repug bully. I, and many other women, admire her for that. I tried watching MSNBC for awhile last night, and Chris Matthews just would not let it go! I swear he brought it up every other sentence that came out of his mouth. Disgusting, I finally turned over to C-Span, I just couldn't take it anymore.

16. if she was really a nasty person...
...she'd buy the rag (and have enough change left over to buy the equally thorny News Corporation) and fire the scoundrel. But she said 'un-American' and denied saying it--- although, it's probably understandable that she forgot she said it, the exchange with the reporter having taken place in the heat of passion and whatnot.

22. He Said "Un-American *activities*" - She DID NOT SAY THAT!
He was twisting her words. Somehow in all the reports they miss that distinction, because it is a big one / / / / / / given that that phrase is assoc w McCarthyism, and the "reporter" knew full well what he was doing. . .Baiting THK for a "gaffe."

I really don't see how it relates to Cheney's cussing at a senator. And I don't recall the so-called 'liberal' media mentioning Bush's accidental "that's the major-league asshole from the Times" remark from 2000.
