I think we have to go house to house and talk to people with documentation |

in hand. The MEDIA are rotten to the core. And couch potatoes do not know better than to watch/listen to them... This election has been an eye-opener for me in respect to the depths of WILLING ignorance of the American people.

I think you're definitely onto something there.
Actually the kids in the Democratic National Committee's grassroots campaign are going house to house in more than 50 cities. My 20-year-old daughter is one of them. She gets into lots of interesting discussions with people of all political stripes.
But you're right -- we need to bypass the corrupt media and go directly to the uninformed, ignorant would-be voters. I talked with an old friend yesterday -- she is unfortunately Republican, and an uninformed one who doesn't use computers, but a friend nonetheless. I was amazed that she was completely unaware of the plans for a military draft, unaware our wounded soldiers had to pay for their own hospital food and that some had to buy their own body armor. Her comment was that our government couldn't afford it, so I asked how we could squander huge wads of tax money on Halliburton when they were overbilling us by millions for cafeteria services and gasoline, etc. and yet we couldn't afford basic body armor and hospital meals for our soldiers.
She couldn't believe such things ever happened, but I told her I could document everything. I found and printed out articles straight from Stars and Stripes and from Fox Nooz supporting my statements, which I will send her via the mail. I don't want to lose a friend, so I am handling this gently. I just want to plant a few seeds of doubt in her mind to see if it's possible for her to open up to change. She's not ready for f-911 yet, but she sounded as though she might be willing to give me the benefit of the doubt.
MY POINT is that we need to find ways to gently educate the uninformed among us -- and there are many who get all their "news" from rightwing media.
CAN WE DESIGN non-partisan-looking brochures with relevant, eye-opening information that could be left in medical offices or handed out in front of supermarkets, etc?
