2. He gives good speech, you gotta give him that.
I was plenty fed up with him by the end of term 2, but you wouldn't believe how bad I miss him now.

Alas,

3. It's like picking your favorite child. They were all great for
different reasons. But Clinton's was a MASTERPIECE !

That is the only word for it, even though that is the word that sick bast--d Dick Morris used.

8. I thought Carter's was very good.
Clinton's was better and he delivered it better, but it was great to see Carter up there taking on the pre-emptive war concept. Since he, unlike Bush, still actually has some moral authority.

7. The Rev. David Alston of Columbia, SC
I loved the Big Dog and Carter...but boy, did that guy make the rafters ring....what a great voice, and a masterful job....My wife said he made the hair on the back on her neck stand up.

Now let's see the GOP dredge up somebody who fell off a barstool with Chimpy at the TANG..."George knows how to make the tough decisions a leader needs to make...I'll never forget how he used to say, "Boys, don't do those lines here. Let's go to the can, and then we'll order us another round of ritas and some nachos.""

10. Now that's funny.
Yeah, I was having similar thoughts as I was watching his speech: who are they going to put up there in September to counter this? James R. Bath? Prince Bandar? What the hell has W. ever *done* that you could find anyone willing to get up and thank him for it?

13. Remember...even for a $10,000 reward
they can't find one shemp even willing to pretend that he saw Chimpy in Alabama...

By the way, here's the text of the speech...and the guy had a GREAT voice and made those cadences RING.

"In a few short months, we will choose our next President. I believe we need to elect a man of faith, experience, and wisdom. A man who knows that defending America means defending our most fundamental rights. A man who knows that leadership is not just about telling others what to do, but inspiring them to do it. A man who knows the true meaning of freedom, equality, and democracy. And that man is my former skipper, my friend, and our next commander-in-chief, John Kerry.
Friends, here in this city more than two centuries ago, patriots launched a revolution that changed history. Generations since have marched, fought, and died to defend the sacred ideals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness-and to make these ideals a reality for every American.
It is now our turn to defend these ideals. It is our time to speak out. It is our duty to exercise our most precious right as Americans: the right to vote.
So come November 2nd, join me in casting your ballot for a new, principled, and courageous leader--America's next president--John Kerry. "

9. Reverend David Alston
Awesome. We HAVE to get him to do that speech again on prime time. Gave me goosebumps. Heck, even I was ready to charge the Viet Cong following behind Kerry during his speech, he made me even smell the jungle and gunsmoke. It was like Washington crossing the Delaware in a swift boat!

11. Tammy is my Congressperson
But I think she practiced her speech a little TOO much.

On the other hand, the CONTENT of her speech was a thrill to these ears. Here's why: Tammy Baldwin's number one, overridding issue is health care. If the Democratic Party puts her up to speak about universal health care on the first night of the convention -- I'm starting to think they really mean it this time!

12. Tammy was a little robotic with the delivery
but I'm sure she'll get better with practice. I mean it must be terrifying up there.

There was a lot of health care talk (Hillary brought it up too). Who knows, maybe they really do have a plan. That would be a big plus.

C ya,

15. i only caught the end of Hillary, but all of Bill
Edited on Tue Jul-27-04 11:23 AM by noiretblu
sorry i missed rev. alston...i will listen to him today.
both clintons were impressive, but bill's speech was pretty awesome.
he got some great jabs in against bush, inc, and i think his refrain of "they really believe in what they are doing...but" was quite effective.
also his use of himself (as an example of a millionaire) in the tax cut example was brilliant.
