Spike Lee directs his 'Hate' toward corporate greed
The germ of this film has to do with what we're in now: Enron. Ken Lay. Skilling. WorldCom. ImClone. That's why I decided to do this film," he says.

She Hate Me is a tale of ethics, morality, survival and greed.

The plot: A corporate guy played by Anthony Mackie blows the whistle and is fired. To keep food on the table, he impregnates lesbians for $10,000 per job. The scheme is uncovered, and that story eventually dovetails with the corporate story.

It also raises several questions: What is moral? What is ethical? And who is to say? The story threads together two very timely subjects -- corporate greed and the gay and lesbian family issues.

"The connection between the two (stories) has to do with the choices people have to make when they're presented with situations that may compromise their ethics," Lee says. "A lot of this is pertinent to the subjects we are dealing with today."
