John Kerry Resume -- Some debunking help needed
Some right-wing nut e-mailed this to me. I would like to send back a debunked version.

RESUME OF JOHN KERRY

RESIDENCE:
7 mansions, including one in Washington DC, worth multi-millions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

College:
I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. Unlike my counterpart George Bush, I have no higher education and did not get admitted to Harvard nor graduate with an M.B.A......

Law Enforcement:
I voted to cut every law enforcement, CIA and defense bill in my career as a US Senator. I ordered Boston to remove a fire hydrant in front of my mansion, thereby endangering my neighbors in the event of fire.

Military:
I used three minor injuries to get an early discharge from the military and service in Vietnam. I then returned to the US, joined Jane Fonda in protesting the war, and insulted returning Vietnam vets, claiming they committed atrocities and were baby killers. I threw my medals, ribbons or something away in protest. Or did I? My book "Vietnam Veterans Against the War: The New Soldier" shows how I truly feel about the military.

PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:
I ran for U.S. Congress and and have been there ever since. I have no real world experience except marrying rich women and running H J. Heinz vicariously through my wife Teresa.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS US SENATOR:
I set the record for the most liberal voting record, exceeding even Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton. I have consistently failed to support our military and CIA by voting against budgets, thus gutting our country's ability to defend itself. Although I voted for the Iraq War, now I am against it and refuse to admit that I voted for it. I voted for every liberal piece of legislation. I have no plan to help this country but I intend to raise taxes significantly if I am elected. My wealth so far exceeds that of my counterpart, George Bush, that he will never catch up. I make no or little charitable contributions and have never agreed to pay any voluntary excess taxes in MA, despite family wealth in excess of $700 million. Although I claim to be in favor of alternative energy sources, Ted Kennedy and I oppose windmills off Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard as it might spoil our view of the ocean as we cruise on our yachts.

PERSONAL:
I ride a Serotta Bike. My Gulfstream V Jet I call "The Flying Squirrel"
I call my $ 850,000 42 foot Hinckley twin diesel yacht the"Scarmouche".
I am fascinated by rap and hip-hop and you had better listen to it as it
reflects our real culture. I own several SUVs including one parked at my
Nantucket summer mansion, though I am against large polluting
inefficient vehicles and blame George Bush for the energy problems.
PLEASE CONSIDER MY EXPERIENCE WHEN VOTING IN 2004.

Cripes, look at some of the claims.

"I voted to cut every law enforcement, CIA and defense bill in my career as a US Senator."

3. He does have a more liberal record than Kennedy and Clinton
I believe I read in Tour of Duty that Kerry was Yale valdevictorian, and he is a trained lawyer and was a prosecutor in the 70's. I dont know about the fire hydrant but I do know that Kerry helped a Massachuetts firehouse out. On the injuries, you are offered the purple heart, he chose to accept it, he also received a silver star and bronze star, and Kerry actually threw the medals of another vet, he kept his own. Kerry has a great deal of respect for the military, I know his reading material, any man who can read Flags of Our Fathers which is Kerry and I's favorite book, he understands the bravery and honor our fighting men and women have. He married Julia Thorne not because she was rich but because she was his best friend David's twin, they met and fell in love, he and Teresa genuinely do care for each other much too. I dont know if Kerry listens to hip hop or not, and if he does who cares, Kerry is a big fan of classical music and classic rock I believe, if you read Tour of Duty you will read that he was in to classical music even as a Yale student. He also knew who all the political figures were of the times and this is even agreed on upon by some republican classmates like Harvey Bundy and his girlfried and now wife, they were friends of Kerry then.

4. Already debunked - the bike Bush fell off of yesterday costs $4000
The SUV is the fact the Heinz has 22 cars at various homes - Kerry drives/owns no SUV

A couple of the Heinz cars are SUV's

Seems to skip his work as assistant District Attorney - the "DA"

Indeep poorly written - not worth debunking

9. Bush's Resume Is More Detailed...
RESUME - GEORGE W. BUSH

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

LAW ENFORCEMENT:

I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine, in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had my driver's license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been "lost" and is not available.

MILITARY:

I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use. By joining the Texas Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in Vietnam.

COLLEGE:

I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. I was a cheerleader.

PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:

I ran for U.S. Congress and lost. I began my career in the oil business in Midland, Texas, in 1975. I bought an oil company, but couldn't find any oil in Texas. The company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock. I bought
the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money. With the help of my father and our right-wing friends in the oil industry (including Enron CEO Ken Lay), I was elected governor of Texas.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS:

I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making Texas the most polluted state in the Union.

During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden city in America. I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions in borrowed money.

I set the record for the most executions by any governor in American history.

With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida, and my father's appointments to the Supreme Court, I became president after losing by over 500,000 votes.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:

I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record.

I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one billion dollars per week.

I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury.

I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history.

I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period.

I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period.

I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the U.S.stock market.

In my first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs and that trend continues every month.

I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in U.S. history. My "poorest millionaire," Condoleeza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.

I set the record for most campaign fundraising trips by a U.S. President.

I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most corporate campaign donations.

My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of my best friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S. History, Enron. My political party used Enron private jets and corporate attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Court during my election decision.

I have protected my friends at Enron and Halliburton against investigation or prosecution. More time and money was spent investigating the Monica Lewinsky affair than has been spent investigating one of the biggest corporate rip-offs in history.

I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed.

I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history.

I changed the U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts.

I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than any President in U.S. history.

I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy in the history of the United States government.

I've broken more international treaties than any President in U.S. history.

I am the first President in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.--this is true.

I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.--actually what happened is the World Court is changing into the International Criminal Court--because the US wants to be a part of the court, but not be open to having the US have charges brought up against them, they have temporarily ceased negotiating with the countries involved in and taking part in the establishment of the ICC. So, in other words, the US wants to be able to establish the laws within the ICC, practice those laws within the ICC, but not have those laws applied to our country.

I refused to allow inspectors access to U.S. "prisoners of war" detainees and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention.--Guantanomo Bay.

I am the first President in history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election).

I set the record for fewest number of press conferences of any President since the advent of television.

I set the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one-year period.

After taking off the entire month of August, I presided over the worst security failure in U.S. history.

I garnered the most sympathy for the U.S. after the World Trade Center attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most disliked country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.

I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously protest me in public venues (15 million people), shattering the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind.

I am the first President in U.S. history to order an unprovoked, preemptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation. I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S. citizens, and the world community.

I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and support a cut in duty benefits for active duty troops and their families - in wartime.

In my State of the Union Address, I lied about our reasons for attacking Iraq, then blamed the lies on our British friends.

I am the first President in history to have a majority of Europeans (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and security.

I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical Bunker Buster," WMD.

I have so far failed to fulfill my pledge to bring Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein to justice.

RECORDS AND REFERENCES:

All records of my tenure as governor of Texas are now in my father's library, sealed and unavailable for public view.

All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.

All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my Vice-President, attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view

any "reporter" who is obsessed with the value of Kerry's houses--he never claimed to be a communist.

10. www.johnkerry.com
Start there.

Specifically, Kerry has a law degree "After graduating from Boston College Law School in 1976"

The cuts in law enforcement is self-evidently false, but would require a LOT more digging than I have time for to debunk

Military:
" used three minor injuries to get an early discharge from the military and service in Vietnam."

His injuries met the requirements to get a Purple Heart, and his early discharge was on his SECOND, VOLUNTARY enlistment.

Experience:

No real world experience? He worked as a "prosecutor in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He took on organized crime and put behind bars "one of the state's most notorious gangsters, the number two organized crime figure in New England." He fought for victims' rights and created programs for rape counseling. "

And also, not right into Congress - "John Kerry was elected Lieutenant Governor in 1982. In that office, he organized the nation's Governors to combat the acid rain that was polluting lakes, rivers, and the nation's water supply. Two years later, he was elected to the United States Senate "

"consistently failed to support our military and CIA by voting against budgets, thus gutting our country's ability to defend itself"

What this doesn't tell you is that the defense cuts he voted for were requested by the administration and Defense Secretary at the time. Who were they? President George H.W. Bush and Defense Sec. Dick Cheney.

"Although I voted for the Iraq War, now I am against it and refuse to admit that I voted for it"

This is untrue. He voted to give the President the authorization he asked for, in order to make a case to the UN for military action in Iraq. He expected the President to keep his word, and now Kerry wants to try to clean up the resulting mess.

" voted for every liberal piece of legislation"

Really? What counts as liberal legislation? Again, this would require a lot of digging to debunk

"I have no plan to help this country"

Really? check out his plans at www.johnkerry.com. Where is Bush's plan? He HASN'T set out a plan for a second term.

11. College
Graduated from Yale with high honors and was selected to give the class oratory (valedictorian) in 1966.

Started Boston College Law School in 1973 and graduated in May 1976. Passed the bar exam the same year. Bush, on the other hand, was denied admission to University of Texas Law School, which he apparently applied to while AWOL from the National Guard. There is an article about this in Bushwatch.

"I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. Unlike my counterpart George Bush, I have no higher education and did not get admitted to Harvard nor graduate with an M.B.A......"

It was Bush who had the C average. And Kerry graduated from Boston Law School. The Chimp got an MBA *because* he couldn't get into law school!

This indicates the level of credibility of the entire thing. I sure wish people wouldn't believe everything they get in an email!! Internet rumors abound.

13. I just read Project Vote Smart’s “fun facts” page about GWB.
http://www.vote-smart.org/election_president_fun_facts.php?can_id=CNIP9043

A couple of observations:

The only book he’s “written” was co-authored by Karen Hughes...

Under “Hobbies and Special Talents” are listed reading, jogging, fishing and watching baseball games. Are these his hobbies or his special talents? I remember him saying he doesn't have to read the news because he has people who do that for him, so that must be a "special talent"...

He is a Cancer. ( O8) )...

Also, has anyone here read either of these books listed as his “favorites”, and if so please comment on the content? (italics added by me):

'The Good Life and Its Discontents: The American Dream in the Age of Entitlement', by Robert J. Samuelson

'The Dream and the Nightmare: The Sixties' Legacy to the Underclass', by Myron Magnet

pardon me, but who is "entitled" and who is the "underclass"?

finally, his favorite childrens book is "The Very Hungry Caterpililar", not "My Pet Goat" (wonder if that changed after 9/11?).

I don't know what his GPA was in Yale, but considering this is the EXACT kind of crap they said about Gore in 2000, I'm going to make the radical assumption it isn't true. Remember, the GOP attack dogs are dumb and not very creative. Recycling their lies is their only attempt at conservation.

In 1976, John Kerry graduated from Boston College Law School.

Oh, by the way freepers, a 42-foot yacht ain't all that big especially if you're going out off New England in it, and an $850,000 yacht is pretty damn cheap. I bet he gets the shit beat out of him every time he goes more than ten miles out.
