I wish there were more mentions of electing a Dem Congress in Boston. |

Of course, we all want to elect Kerry. But it's just as important to at least return Senate control to the Democrats.

In my own state, Senator Patty Murray is up for re-election. She's a good, liberal senator and needs to be returned to Congress. The Republican running against her, Rep. George Nethercutt, is an opportunist and an embarassement to our state. It would disaster to see Nethercutt take Murray's place in the senate.
In our eagerness to remove George Bush from the Oval Office I would hope that liberals and progressives would not forget the importance of electing a Congress that our new President, John Kerry, can work with.

with L-O-N-G coattails. They will have to be long indeed to overcome all the gerrymandering in the House, and all the open Dem seats in the Senate in the South.
It could happen, but it will take a repudiation of historic proportions on a national scale of all things Republican.
