The Kerry contribution lines are very busy--I finally got through
Edited on Tue Jul-27-04 12:50 PM by lebkuchen
both last night and today (MSNBC's headline motivated me to contribute even more).

I told the person on the other end that I was concerned that the busy lines and triple attempts to get through would dissuade callers from hanging in there to make the contribution.

The campaign worker said they had 45 people taking contributions and that they were doing the best they could, but that they were simply overloaded most of the time with callers wishing to make their contributions.

My call lasted 5 minutes. If each worker takes 12 calls an hour, working an 8 hour shift, receiving an average contribution of $50 (I contributed $300), each worker is probably pulling in close to $5,000 a shift, times 45 workers, it's roughly a quarter of a million in 8 hours.

7. DoD Civilian (not a contractor)
who doesn't have to pay rent.

If you didn't have to pay the rent and received a decent salary, you'd have more to contribute as well. :)

Once the congressional races become clearer, I'll be able to contribute to the close ones. This is a very important election, and I'll bet that the majority of contributors had never before given to a political campaign. With the help of the internet, Kerry is going to set a new standard for fund-raising.

3. Had no trouble just now
I gave another $50 I do not have toward my only hope for a return to life as a fully free American. Quite easy.

5. You mean the one that David Allen is sponsoring?
That's the one that wouldn't take my APO address so I had to phone in the contribution.

Are you saying THAT campaign only has $100?? I find that hard to believe considering the number of people who post here.
