My friend Alicia called me and was ecstatic that her parents are turning |
|

on Bushco. Her parents are die hard repubs that only watch Fox news, their daughter is a bi-sexual, occasionally pink haired, peirced liberal. She called last night saying that her mother watched the convention with her and did nothing but completement the dems. Her mother said that Clinton was superb. She didn't remember him being such a great speaker, but I guess after four years of a president not being able to form a coherent sentence, Clinton was mind blowing. Her mother thinks that Edwards is very cute and really respects that he came from a lower middle class back ground ans likes that he is southern.
Her father is another story, he hasn't been completely won over yet but he is pissed about the war and thinks that Bush is abusing the military. Alicia come from a military family were both her father and her uncles have served. Plus he is pissed that he has a PhD and now drives a truck. The question are you better off than you were four years ago really hits him.
Alicia usually doesn't talk politics with her family but lately her parents are saying bad things about the shrub more and more often. Plus Alicia was over joyed at being able to tell her mother that Bush is not from Texas. She said to her mother, "that bitch is from Conn. and he is such a phony is his damn cowboy boots it makes me sick." A year ago if Alicia said that she would have been kicked out of the room, now her mother welcomes the information.
But for the first time Alicia was happy b/c she now fully believes that Kerry will win, she figures if he can't hold onto the support of her parents, he is going to go down hard.
As far as my repub father in law is concerned he said two incredibly out of character comments yesterday, he said that Edwards was smart as a whip and that Kerry's voice sounds exactly like Reagan. Not to great but I'll take what I can get.
I am so lucky to have been born to very liberal parents. Dad was at Woodstock and marched with MLK when he was only 16. Although growin up in MS with liberal parents was interesting to say the least, I am so proud to be from a family of democrats.

3. This is happening all over America |
|
Folks are fed up with Bush, they know that the war in Iraq is a scam, and they know they are not better off than they were 4 years ago.
Isn't it nice?

7. But if you listen to the liebral media |
|
you would hear this morning that Kerry's numbers are dropping, down 5 percent in the last 4 weeks. So what are we to make of this conflicting evidence?

In fact, on {your} happy note I think I'll turn the computer off and try to get a few things done before tonight's convention coverage.
Thanks :)

9. I hear many stories going this way, and NONE going the other. |
|
A couple in my family alone.
My sister-in -law, a die-hard pro-lifer and conservative Christian, is sounding more and more every day like she will vote Kerry-Edwards. She already liked Kerry, and called my wife VERY excited the day he picked Edwards.
My brother, who used to live in the DC area and read the Wash. Times b/c he said the Post was "too liberal", now lives in Florida and want's to get Jeb out of there.
These stories are more telling than any poll, I think.
