Here's an email I just sent to CNN
The first draft was nastier, I removed the cusses and much of the sarcasm since I'm sure they wouldn't get it anyway:

I have often depended on CNN for much of my news. When it comes to breaking stories and international news, CNN is a usually a tremendous resource. (**I like to butter them up first**)

I am, however, appalled by your coverage of the Democratic Convention.

(1) If the speaker is not a "name" speaker, you don't show it, even if it's 8:30PM (for example the vet under Kerry's command in Vietnam). Is it because his story might resonate with the American people that his speech takes a back seat to one of your reporters offering a blasé critique ("...he didn't get these delegates too excited...") of Al Gore?

(2) Ms. Woodruff sullies the profession of journalism. How is this recent question for Mary Beth Cahill objective?; "How do you feel about having the Republicans out there reminding the media and through us the American people of Kerry's inconsistencies...?" Are these alleged inconsistencies a given? Even OJ got an "alleged" in there for crying out loud.

(3) "Flip Flop", "Extreme Makeover", "Shove it" etc. When you adopt the Republican talking points you sure do repeat them over and over and over again. This problem isn't unique to CNN, but shouldn't you at least try to be original with the terminology you use?

I could go on; I think the point is clear. Your news organization's distaste for Kerry, for Democrats and by extension, for 50% of the American people is evident.

As a result, I will now join the 85% of Americans who never watch you or use your Website.

3. Thanks
I'm happy that this will be the last email I send to CNN since I will no longer be bothered by the crap I won't be watching.

2. I'm with you.
I used to watch Healine News in the background as I worked on my computer, but I can't do it anymore, for all the reasons you mentioned.

I find BBC more objective, and covers more international news.

4. watch CSPAN
watch whoever you want, and make your own decisions on how to feel about what you hear. Only a wingnut needs to be hand-fed what they should think.

7. Very nice.
It might help to add something to the effect that they are losing their base, people like us, and pandering to the right will not get them ratings. Fox has that audience and they aren't about to switch to CNN no matter how they try. It's a lose/lose situation for them. Maybe making it a financial decisions for them will hit home.

10. I just sent a scathing comment as well, and I can only hope they
will have the grace to be embarrassed. I won't hold my ass waiting, though. They need 50,000 emails and letters on the subject.
