CNN Jumps Shark: Shows Photoshopped Pix Of Kerry
Edited on Tue Jul-27-04 04:02 PM by cryingshame
If CNN just showed the picture of Kerry in the Suit... it would have been one thing.

However, they showed a photoshopped version of the picture done by Repbulicans whose obvious intent was to do damage to the Kerry Campaign.

The photo wasn't a harmless prank done for an office party or family reunion.

CNN did NOT show a photoshopped version of Bush.

What POSSIBLE excuse can CNN give for airing something that is so unequivocally a partisan attack?

There was NO editorial value.

It wasn't just a laugh at Kerry's expense over something that Kerry did.

It was a mean spirited laugh over a fabricated photo that Bush partisans did with the sole intent of ridiculing Kerry.

This goes beyond ANYTHING I've seen from the supposedly unbiased news sources.

Please write to CNN and complain.

More proof today's the day CNN jumped the shark- apparently Bill Hemmer said Kerry looked like a condom. And lead story on Crossfire was Kerry looks like a sperm.

9. Yup, Rabbit Ears.
If this was done by a co-worker at an office party, I'd laugh.

But this was done by Republicans with one intent only.

5. I agree. CNN mentioned a photo of * picking his nose, but I never
saw it. Don't know when that story ran, and they sure didn't post that pic alongside this one of Kerry, altho they mentioned in, as if to say, see we're being fair....we showed one w/* picking his nose, and here's this one the Repubs sent out of Kerry in his bubble suit, which some are comparing to the Dukakis in the tank picture.

Normally, I think CNN is in the middle....but this was so obviously pro-Repub.

And what the heck was Kerry thinking? I don't think it's so bad, but he had to know it wasn't a GOOD thing to be photographed in that suit. Mistake #1 in the campaign.

15. It was not a mistake to wear a protective suit
in that environment. He did not look any different than the many other workers there. This entire "story" is the most ridiculous I have seen in quite some time.

I sent an email to CNN telling them that to disrespect a man who will soon be president is disgusting.

13. Even with the ears he looks more manly and more intelligent
than our own bunnypants does in a suit. I mean it. Kerry is a real man. Shrub is a pathetic excuse of a man that is only president because his daddy was president. Where's that truth in our media???

10. BOYCOTT their advertisers!
That's where to hurt them, in the pocketbook.
Write to CNN and tell them off, but don't forget to add that you are compiling a list of the companies that sponsored this program, and that you intend to boycott their projects.

14. I just sent a rant. I could not even think straight to write coherently.
CNN has finally JUMPED THE SHARK... You tell the Democratic campaign representative that "the Republicans THROUGH you are showing Kerry's flip-flops"... So now we should know exactly what to expect of you.
AND THEN YOU SHOW A PHOTOSHOPPED PICTURE OF KERRY WHO IS FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS TO SEE A SCIENTIFIC installation BECAUSE HE IS NOT A DUMB chair like Bush who still thinks that space exploration will allow us to "know if the stars twinkle in space..." SHAME ON YOU, SHAME ON YOU, SHAME ON YOU.
I had gotten cable to watch the election coverage... THE ONLY ONE THAT IS WORTH IT IS C-SPAN...
SHAME... I just want to cry for our beloved country... cry for our corporated owned country... cry for what our country used to be... and will never be again while you have control of the news.
All of the "mainstream" media conveniently bought real estate on the REPUBLICAN side of the shore... And you want to keep Americans stupid and poor and voting Republican.

AND TUCKER CARLSON... he has the same depth as a milk saucer...with poison inside. Because he looks so insipid, you allow him to spout stupidities and insults as if it were reality.

And how do you dare ask us to watch Novak... he is a repulsive human being with the ugliest mug I have seen in my life.

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH CNN?

17. I've had it with CNN.
I haven't watched them in quite a long while, but their antics today show how desperate the neocons are getting. The Democratic Party is running on a positive message of hope, while the squatters in the White House only have blunder after blunder. So what do they do? Focus on trivial shit and spin non-events into supposedly damaging stories, and CNN is taking their orders without hesitation.

During the Republican National Convention, will we see the Photoshopped image of Bush in the pink bunny costume? Yeah, I thought not. Fucking whores.

19. PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!
Disconnect your cable as soon as possible. Do you get anything valuable or useful from any TV news source - exception being the Daily Show - ?

I refuse to watch any TV news and am very close to watching almost no TV at all except for DVDs.

I got so completely fed up with the HATCHET job they did on Gore in 2000 I disconnected my cable.

Disconnect your cable - you will be very glad you did. And let CNN know why you did it.

21. I couldn't do that.
I depend on C-Span for unfiltered coverage of the convention and daily political events, and I need my dose of The Daily Show as well.

I've just removed CNN, Faux News, and MSGOP from my channel lineup so I don't accidently run across them while surfing.

24. The Difference- Kerry Pix Was PHOTOSHOPPED!
the Bush pix have not.

Big difference, as I mentioned in first post, if they'd just shown unaltered pix of Kerry in hazmat suit.

25. I understand the difference!
I am interested in how this plays out now. The way the upcoming piece was previewed made it sound like the Bush photo (regardless of whether it had been altered) was sent from some Dem official or from the DNC or something.

Here comes the piece...

27. Blatant whoring just on CNN
They even showed the Kerry photoshops.

And the only examples CNN showed were the cheerleader, the kimono and the flightsuit. Of course, no mention made of the nose picking pic.

And they went into full spin mode over the kimono and the flightsuit pics.

If they had any balls, they'd show the nose picking pic. But they're too chickenshit.
