CNN is showing a picture of Bush is that blue polka-dotted Chinese clown outfit. It's screamingly funny.

God, it's like Republicans never develop maturity beyond the age of 12. This shit won't fly again.

By the way, those of you who happen to have that picture of George the clown, it might be a good idea to e-mail it around as a counter-attack.

They showed a photoshopped version with rabbit ears done by Republicans with the sole intent of ridiculing Kerry and damging his campaign.

... for a response picture (an appropriate strategy, I agree), may backfire.

He wasn't dressed in a "blue polka-dotted Chinese clown outfit", as you put it. It was, I'm sure, a traditional Chinese outfit appropriate for the occasion (though not necessarily for non-Chinese, although obviously many others were wearing the same outfit). This runs the risk of the Kerry campaign being accused of maligning the culture of a minority.

I do think the rapid response, though, sent them the message that "we can play dirty, too". Might make them think twice next time.

But the Kerry camp should have released pictures that weren't on such a juvenile level. There are plenty of pics of Bush that bring up more important ISSUES, which is the last thing that Bush and Co. want.

that was a pretty lame segment in general. I do think it was prompted by a lot of complaints from Dems unhappy with CNN showing the "rabbit ears" version of the Kerry pic.

Did you notice how they tried to make it oh-so-clear that the altered photo was provided by the "blogs for Bush" group, not affiliated in "any way" with the Bush campaign? And how carefully they pointed out that Bush was being culturally sensitive by wearing the shiny blue suit thing and that all the leaders at the event were wearing them?

Oh well, at least Blitzer did say that the Bush Campaign had mass emailed the original haz-mat photo to the media. I just wish he or someone would point out how childish that action was in and of itself (even without the later photo doctoring job...).
