Why is Tucker Carlson
allowed to lie and denigrate everything and anything that has to do with the Democratic Convention?

He is blathering away right now and is so incredibly rude and obnoxious, I couldn't stand it anymore.

CNN has really sunk to an incredible low, to allow this behavior. Even FOX was sounding more rational.

Time to write and call to complain.

5. Tucker
Kept going on and on about how Kerry had dressed up "like a sperm" because when he was visiting NASA the other day he wore one of those clean suits they make you wear when you go into certain areas.

Then Tucker puts up a picture of Woody Allen from Sleepers (?) to show that Kerry indeed was dressed like a sperm.

6. I had already written a very incoherent note... I AM AT THE END OF MY
ROPE WITH THE MEDIA... I think I will only watch C-Span (that is what I have been doing today, but when I read here what is going on the acid in my stomach just rises to a dangerous level.

Here is my stupid rant... I could not even think straight.

CNN has finally JUMPED THE SHARK... You tell the Democratic campaign representative that "the Republicans THROUGH you are showing Kerry's flip-flops"... So now we should know exactly what to expect of you.
AND THEN YOU SHOW A PHOTOSHOPPED PICTURE OF KERRY WHO IS FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS TO SEE A SCIENTIFIC installation BECAUSE HE IS NOT A DUMB chair like Bush who still thinks that space exploration will allow us to "know if the stars twinkle in space..." SHAME ON YOU, SHAME ON YOU, SHAME ON YOU.
I had gotten cable to watch the election coverage... THE ONLY ONE THAT IS WORTH IT IS C-SPAN...

SHAME... I just want to cry for our beloved country... cry for our corporated owned country... cry for what our country used to be... and will never be again while you have control of the news.

All of the "mainstream" media conveniently bought real estate on the REPUBLICAN side of the shore... And you want to keep Americans stupid and poor and voting Republican.

AND TUCKER CARLSON... he has the same depth as a milk saucer...with poison inside. Because he looks so insipid, you allow him to spout stupidities and insults as if it were reality.

And how do you dare ask us to watch Novak... he is a repulsive human being with the ugliest mug I have seen in my life.

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH CNN?

7. I don't mind Tucker lying
I just wish Begala and Carville would more often bluntly state "That is a lie" and then demonstrate that fact. He repeats the same lies so often it would be easy to do.

8. I'm sure it's just his usual crap
Edited on Tue Jul-27-04 04:04 PM by DoYouEverWonder
but doing this while you are supposed to be covering the democratic convention is disgusting. And the fact that CNN allows this behavior is even more disgusting.

I didn't stay tuned long enough to pass much useful info about what he's actually saying. All sorts of crap about Al Gore not winning the election, as if there was no question. How he can't understand how Dems must feel to have to pretend they like Ted Kennedy....

He has such bad diarrhea of the mouth and most it doesn't really even make much sense. Bottom line, he shouldn't even be allowed on the air, if he's going to be so out of control.

9. Hasn't anyone read the new issue of Entertainment Weekly?
Ken Tucker, the chief television critic, reviewed Crossfire and had this to say about Fucker Carlson:

"Carlson, however, is a different matter. He's a real creep. On the July 5 edition, he insinuated that John Edwards made his name as a trial lawyer by 'specializing in jacuzzi cases.' This was an allusion to the horrific disembowelment of a young girl who'd been sucke dinto an open swimming pool drain. When informed of the facts behind his cruel phrasing, he snapped 'Oh, I know. I've heard that,' and then pressed the point that Edwards took money for getting the girl a $25 million settlement. Carlson is a quicker debater than any of the Crossfire hosts, and he's a good looking twerp. But he's got cold, dead eyes that seem to match his heart. He's a prime example of the Triumph of the Telegenic. Recently rewarded with his own show on the now utterly-soulless PBS, Carlson can spew his bile all over the tube. It's goign to take a tepid parody show like Crossballs (on Comdey Central) to cut a putrid pundit like him down to size."

Oh please say it isn't so? What is this world coming to. Has everyone running the news media, taken stupid pills?

I'm so glad I don't watch TV much anymore.

10. Tucker Carlson has a very mediocre intellect
He isn't that bright and it always shows. He is shallow and sophomoric. I think he knows it and that is why he comes off as defensive.

12. Mark the comment as 'positive'
and then flay them. I marked my negative comment 'positive' and said 'surprised that this comment is marked positive? That's the same shock I get every time I turn to your "news" programs and hear nothing but right wing talking points straight from Rove's mouth.'

13. The sad thing is
TC is berated by the more reactionary talk show hosts as being too "wimpy".
I guess he's trying to win back his credentials.

15. Like *, he gets away with a LOT just because of who his kinfolks are.
IMO Tucker is a big baby, crying out for undeserved attention the way he must have his whole life. His "conservatism" may be 80 percent put-on, to stand out in his quintessentially liberal extended family. Plus, he has the spoiled-brat sense of entitlement of a close relative of a former president. I'm assuming Larry King was correct last night in asserting John F. Kennedy was Tucker Carlson's uncle:

From http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0407/27/lkl.01.html

"SHARPTON: Well, but he was responsible for the information he got. We trusted him to get us the right information, so it doesn't matter whether he knew he had the right information or not, do you continue to trust someone's stewardship that led you into something that ended up being wrong?

AFFLECK: President Bush has not come out and said, "I'm responsible for this." He hasn't taken a leadership role to say, "Yes, the buck stops here. Yes, I'm the president. I told you that we were going into Iraq because they were developing and had weapons of mass destruction, which they intended to use. I'm sorry, America. I made an honest mistake. That's what I believed and I acted as such."

SHARPTON: And heads will roll for giving me wrong information. We haven't even seen that. Who has paid for the misinformation that he was given?

KING: Would that have worked, Tucker? Kennedy took full responsibility, JOHN KENNEDY, YOUR UNCLE, for the Bay of Pigs.

CARLSON: Yes, it might have. I mean I think the war probably was a mistake. That's my view and I'm conservative and I guess it would be useful if the president would say that. I do think he ought to acknowledge the fact that WMD had not been found is a big deal."

asking Jerry Springer if he's met some of his audience at the convention.

Springer came back with a great response and said "they're good people, they're just not wealthy"
