perceived weakness. That's what they think everything is all about. False bravado. That's why they want guns. That's why they hate gays. That's why they want women to be weak, to feed that strong male image egos. That's why we have a $500 billion defense budget. So we HAD to invade somewhere (where there were good targets!) after
9/11, to not invade would be to appear weak.

just when troops could have captured or killed Osama in Tora Bora, we let him escape and then Bush called Osama irrelevent and was marginalized.

now Bush is threatening to cancel elections because this "marginalized and irrelevent" mastermind is planning a November terror attack!
