Senator Mark Dayton (MN) the only one to write me back
During the rumor wars on the postponement of elections, I fired off a few letters. Here is MN Senator Mark Dayton's (D) Reply (so far he is the only one to reply to me).

Dear Mr. Ruce:

Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns about recent
rumors
that the November election may be postponed due to a terrorist attack.
At
a press conference on July 8, 2004, Homeland Security Secretary Tom
Ridge
warned of raised terror alerts in connection with the November
election,
and he commented on the possibility of a postponement. The
Constitution
grants Congress jurisdiction over the timing of federal elections. It
would take an act of Congress to change the date on which the election
occurs for the entire country. No legislation has been introduced in
the
Senate to change the date of the election.

I agree with you that it is very important to protect our democracy
and
hold our national election as planned. Should any legislation on this
issue come before the Senate, be assured that I will take your concerns
into consideration. Thank you again for being in touch. Please do not
hesitate to contact me again should you have any further questions or
concerns.

My best regards.
Sincerely,

Mark Dayton
United States Senator
