In your opinion: Is Iraq technically part of the United States?? |
|
And at what level do you think the US has control over Iraq???
People say that Iraq could become the 51st state. While I know that won't be true, that doesn't mean that through our actions, it could become a military/corporate colony of the US, or a client state/puppet government, like the way the Eastern European countries (Soviet Bloc) was under indirect Soviet regime in the Cold War.
In my opinion, today Iraq is part of the United States as a military protectorate with a client/puppet government. I wish to see the day when Iraq is once again a fully independent nation, but I know that as long as shit happens there, there's no chance of that happening. I really wish someday (hopefully when Kerry is president) for UN peacekeepers to replace US troops in the area.
Iraq has a legitimate chance of becoming a more ingrained US military-controlled client state in the future if * stays in power.
And here's another question. If things become that way, do you think American fact books/journals/web sites will state that fact, that Iraq is part of the United States? Or will this be censored so that it appears that Iraq is a fully independent nation??? Because we all know it's not like that now, and probably won't be like that for a long time.

5. How do you say "Estado Libre Asociado" in Arabic? |
|
That's the official name of Puerto Rico's commonwealth status. Puerto Rico, you will recall, also came under U.S. sway as spoils of war, in that instance the Spanish-American War.
Next up: Which U.S. city will be first to develop a "Little Baghdad"? Smart money's on Detroit, with a large Arab-American population in the immediate area, plus a definite need for an infusion of new, um, blood (sorry), much like that which turned a lot of NYC's neighborhoods around.

7. Iraq as the 51st state |

Jesus - don't tell John Howard that you'll break his heart!
Iraq is for now and the forseeable future a client state with a puppet government, and not for the first time either.
