2. I don't believe those numbers for the Bushes
I bet they have 20 times that amount, carefully hidden.

4. True, especially for Pappy...
Fortune claims that the numbers shown represent "the number available closest to the time each held office, and adjusted for inflation."

So Pappy "had" $2 million when he was in office, but...as you said...it does not account for the "carefully hidden" funds.

And Dubya...who never did an honest day's work in his life, with a l-o-n-g trail of failed business ventures behind him, worth $13 million? THANKS, Kenny Boy!

:puke:

5. If elected, KamaAina and Teresa Heinz-Kerry-KamaAina would be the richest
Edited on Tue Jul-27-04 06:40 PM by KamaAina
Her billion-dollar net worth plus my .05 million would still put us over the top. Plus, I'd get to listen to Mrs. KamaAina tell that fascist pig from the Richard Mellon Scaife news*paper to shove it! :-)

The point is that the repukes have been reduced to bashing Kerry because his wife happens to be wealthy. Neither Mass. nor Pa. is a community property state, so President Kerry has no claim on the Heinz money. I don't think that D.C. has it, either...

Edit: decimals and poverty

6. Guess this was their wealth when taking office (doesn't include homes)
According to the article it doesn't include G H W Bush's Kennebunkport 2 million property because it is not income producing, but does include W's ranch. That would mean that it probably included Carter's farm property in Georgia.

G.H.W. Bush has made many millions from various activities since leaving office.

8. Didn't the Monkey's Paw have several high 6 figure speaking tours?
I think the Reverend Moon paid him in the mid 6 figures several times to speak abroad. And Kennebunkerport alone has to be worth a lot more than $2.0 million.

11. I find it hard to beleive that Poppy is only worth $2,000,000.00
His offshore accounts are probably $20,000,000.00.
