I need help debunking this email.... |
|
Thanks....
Every year an independent tax watchdog group analyzes the average tax burden on Americans, and then calculates the "Tax Freedom Day". This is the day after which the money you earn goes to you, not the government.
This year, tax freedom day was April 11th. That's the earliest it has been since 1991. It's latest day ever was May 2nd, which occurred in 2000. Notice anything special about those dates?
Today John Kerry gave a speech in which he claimed Americans are actually paying more taxes under Bush, despite the tax cuts. He gave no explanation and provided no data for this claim. Another interesting fact: Both George Bush and John Kerry are wealthy men.
Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas.
Kerry owns 4 mansions, all worth several million dollars. (His ski resort home in Idaho is an old barn brought over from Europe in pieces. Not your average A-frame).
Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; Kerry paid $90,000. Does that sound right? The man who wants to raise your taxes obviously has figured out a way to avoid paying his own.
Pass this on. Only 148 days until the election.

1. You don't really need to debunk that crap |
|
You might as well reply with George W. Bush is a poopie head! Because they are both on this same level. This is pure crap.

All but one belongs to Teresa from before they got married. But check this out, the ski resort in Idaho, was indeed brought over in pieces, but by Teresa's first husband, John Heinz the REPUBLICAN Senator.
John paid less taxes than Bush because he's worth less. Teresa however, paid far more than bush.
This one is too easy.

4. I am not conceding these tax numbers are right |
|
but if you take all the tax money collected and divide by all eligible workers and a great number of them are unemployed, underemployed, given up on being employed, of course you get a smaller number.
During the Clinton gravy years there were more people making a good wage so the total amount of taxes collected was more of course. And then you enter in Bush tax breaks for the rich and you have even less tax.
I imagine the people with no jobs are thrilled that the rich are paying less tax.
You would think who ever wrote this email would know that Kerry and Theresa file separate tax returns. I think I remember when Kerry released his return that his imcome was in the $350,000 range. $90,000 tax on that income is very normal and I'm sure compares favorably to Bush's rate.
