8. In front of you
Take some time to think about politics and compromise. That's what he has had to work with in the past number of years, with no help. I am disappointed in the negativity.

10. generally we get the "I'm very troubled/I'm very concerned" Daschle
he seems like an awfully nice fellow, the kind of guy you'd trust to borrow a lawnmower or something... but leader? I'm really surprised they didn't fire him when they lost the Senate.

23. I hear hes good to work with
talked with a senior I know and I heard that he was good to work for. Personally, Daschle does pretty damn well considering his home state.

19. Tom does this alot
he has been great at times and simply awful at others - if he would just stand up and act on his beliefs and stop running scared he would be great - however since he mentioned Haliburton he'd better be careful when getting on small planes....

16. he has been evident
but some people only want to complain about things they disagree with him on. but daschle is a very good majority leader and it's evident when one looks at everything he does and not just pick out a few things they disagree with.

24. Excuse my negativity about Daschle
It just seems to me that a Minority Leader ought to LEAD!!!

Where was his "leadership" when the Patriot Act was before the Senate and every Democrat but ONE voted for it?

Where was his "leadership" when the Iraq War Resolution was before the Senate, and the vast majority of Democrats voted for it?

Where was his "leadership" during the Florida recount?

The Democrats have confirmed more of Bush's judicial appointments than the Republicans confirmed Clinton's.

22. I don't have the story now
but remember reading in Buzzflash several months ago that Daschle had a letter to the editor of one of the SD newspapers, bragging how he voted in favor of Chimpy over 60% of the time. It wasn't written by Daschle himself, but one of his staff, presumably with his blessing.

He's running for office in a conservative state so I give him some slack. But he is no "leader." And I'll NEVER forget seeing him in F 9/11 telling his Senate colleague's they should support Chimpy and the Iraq war.

Nancy Pelosi, on the other hand, definitely is.

20. It's not like this is tough crowd to be "bold" in front of
not like, for instance, the US Senate, where he just rolls over and says "pet my tummy."

26. Daschle lost any credibility with me....
... when I found out his wife is a lobbyist for one of the largest mercenary firms in the U.S., and one that got awarded a big fat contract in Iraq. Daschle can eat shit for all I care!
