Paraphrasing: "because I'm breaking down boundaries. Black-white, upstate-downstate, liberal-conservative."

The primary was a hard slog, which people might not appreciated (because he's unopposed now).

He's talking about things that matter.

Does the recount have something to do with it? "Haven't thought about that" but that's probably partly right. People are definitely interested in a fundamental fairness in the system now...

4. He handled the Ifill interview beautifully
Sheilds and Brooks were praising him for his composure after such an enormous experience. As to the remark, he admitted it casually, explained it, and brushed it off. He was perfect.
