Sludge: Dems Claim NASA released photos to smear
http://www.drudgereport.com/dnc7.htm

Kerry campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill claims 'dirty tricks' by NASA after it released 'surprise' photographs showing the Dem presidential hopeful dressed in a space suit crawling through a rocket hatch.

Cahill, asked by FOXNEWS whether it was a dirty trick, said: 'Well, what do you think?' No photos were supposed to be taken, she said.

Begin Transcript:

HUME: i must ask you about this photograph that suddenly turned up and fell in our laps last night nobody thought it was come. nobody had reported on the event which led to-t but there he was, the senator, on all fours in this very peculiar outfit, which i guess nasa had given him. how did that come about?

CAHILL: well, yesterday senator john glenn, obviously he was an astronaut in his previous life sexrvings senator carr took a tour of a bio facility at nasa. it was just the two of them, and the nasa staff, and all of a sudden this is a leaked photo.

1. would be nice to have a President who cares about science
and cares about the people working in those areas which help make their country so great.

if they toured a facility that required them to wear those suits, how is it a smear if someone took a photo?

on edit: maybe there's an explanation in that link but i'm not going to visit drudge.

4. It's a smear if someone at NASA or the Repugs released
it to get exactly what the media whores did today - why didn't we see the group photo until tonight? Instead we got the Kerry crawling in this "funny bunny" suit.

6. okay
i don't watch tv news. but what i'm saying-- why is it a "funny bunny" suit and why would someone make fun of it. people wear these everyday in situations that require their use, e.g. whatever facility kerry was touring. wouldn't it be a bigger deal if he refused to wear the suit and was not allowed inside? i guess i just don't understand why this is supposed to be hilarious.

7. it's just a desperate unimaginative attempt to link Kerry to Dukakis
tank photo. It's not working.

9. ahh
okay. well this situation would seem to be completely different so i can see why it wouldn't work.

now, bush landing on an aircraft carrier in flight gear and a codpiece, that would seem to be more relevant.

12. Is the GHP saying our most respected scientists look silly...
...wearing these necessary outfits? Are they ridiculing the very people who will be needed to carry out GWBush's* plan to go to Mars? How about the great American hero John Glenn? Are they saying he looks silly?

(Thanks to Randi Rhodes for this train of thought...)

11. That's not a bad photo
And you have John Glenn to educate the idiots who think they are looking at some cookie factory.

Who's the shin burn king going to pose with next time over the handlebars? Lance Armstrong?
